‘The Voice’ Winner Chevel Shepherd Reveals What She’s Doing With The Prize Money
Last week Chevel Shepherd was crowned the winner of season 15 of The Voice. We are very happy for her. Besides being squee-level cute, she’s also incredible talented. Just last night I heard her voice on a Target commercial. But what will a young girl do with the $100,000 prize money.
Chevel strikes me as a level-headed young girl. Another less responsible teenager might blow it on jet skis and cocaine. Not surprisingly for a girl her age she wants to get a car. It seems that love of cars runs in the family. Her dad named her after the Chevrolet Chevelle. That’s pretty intense. I’m glad my dad didn’t name me after the car he had when I was born. Volkswagon Bug Tomas is a terrible name. At any rate she plans on getting a car for herself and one for she and her dad to fix up. She said,
“I think I’m going to get a Mini Cooper. That’s just mine and my dad’s thing together. We’re going to build a car, and, of course, you want to drive it but I wouldn’t drive it every day because it’s a classic car. I want the memories of me and my dad, so I’m going to drive either the Mini Cooper or something else. I don’t know for sure yet.”
That’s adorable. But that’s Chevel for you. She also discussed what having Kelly Clarkson as her coach means. She’s lucky because Kelly has really worked a lot to help last season’s winner Brynn Cartelli. I wouldn’t be surprised if she does the same for Chevel. She said,
“Kelly sticks by her artists and just wants to help out as much as she can. We are currently trying to work it out, but I definitely want to do an old, classic country sound mixed with some modern vibes. The first album I make, I want it to be classic.”
I can’t wait for her first album. Chevel has the talent to be the next big country star if she’s given the right opportunities. With Kelly by her side, I don’t doubt it.
