‘The Voice’ Week 4: Why Nick Jonas Was Brought To Tears Over This Audition

Season 18 of The Voice continued this week with the final round of blind auditions. All of the coaches’ teams are now full, with the battle round starting next week.


This week’s episode opened with a performance of Nick Jonas’ “Jealous” by all four coaches. It was a nice reminder of just how talented they all are, as they chose the final artists to join their teams.

Micah Iverson (Team Kelly)

This singer grew up in Japan with a family of eight siblings. He recently quit his job and decided to pursue music. Micah performed “All I Want” by Kodaline. Kelly was the first coach to turn, followed by Nick and Blake. Kelly and Blake ended up getting into an argument when he claimed she wanted an all-female team. Micah chose to join Team Kelly.

Brittney Allen (Team Legend)

This singer took time off from music after her mother passed away from cancer. She performed “Dancing on My Own” by Robyn. John was the only coach to turn around, so Brittney automatically joined his team. The other coaches said they were getting pickier as their teams fill up.

Cam Spinks (Team Blake)

This singer grew up in a small town and has been in several bands. He performed “Wave on Wave” by Pat Green. Blake and Kelly both turned their chairs. Kelly said Cam’s voice is her favorite kind of country music, and that it’s missing from the industry. Cam chose to join Team Blake.

Anders Drerup (Team Nick)

This singer has performed on five continents. He performed a reggae-inspired “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley. Nick was the only one to turn around, so Anders automatically joined his team. Nick said he was surprised by Anders’ look when he turned around.

Mandi Castillo (Team Legend)

This singer from San Antonio loves singing Spanish music. She donated a kidney in an exchange to help her mom get a transplant. For her audition, she sang “Así Fue” by Juan Gabriel. All four coaches turned around for her. Nick got choked up talking about “how important it is for us to represent” other languages. Mandi chose to join John’s team.

Kailey Abel (Team Blake)

This music therapy major is interested in singing soul but says she can also sing country. Her family houses foster kids, and her parents recently adopted her little brother. She performed “Forever Young” by Alphaville. Blake was the only coach to turn, meaning Kailey automatically joined his team. He said he would “bet the farm” on her winning the show.

Gigi Hess (Team Kelly)

This singer was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome, which caused her to gain weight. She faced bullying as a teenager, and had surgery to lose weight for her health. Gigi sang “Lovesong” by The Cure. Kelly was the only coach to turn, so Gigi automatically joined her team.

Kevin Farris (Team Nick)

This singer runs a music program for kids, where he’s known as Mr. Kevin. He performed “Home” by Johnnyswim. John and Nick (the only coaches without full teams) both turned around. John said he felt Kevin’s “love for music.” Nick took the stage to duet with Kevin on the Jonas Brothers’ “Love Bug.” Kevin chose to join his team.

Cedrice (Team Legend)

This singer was diagnosed with alopecia when she was a kid, and joined a band when she was in college. She sang “Fever” by Peggy Lee for her audition. John, the last coach with a spot left, turned around for her. The other coaches sneaked a peek at her as she finished singing. “You are so sexy!” Kelly said. Cedrice rounds out the artists for this season.
