The Voice UK is kicking ass and taking names. It is even beating rival show The Greatest Dancer in the ratings. That’s something The X Factor can’t say about Strictly Come Dancing. I hate to say it but at this point The Voice UK is just a better show. Having Jennifer Hudson, Tom Jones, Olly Murs, and Will.i.Am as coaches doesn’t hurt. So, let’s look at the talent this week on blind auditions.

Eden Kavanaugh

She sang They Just Keep Moving The Line from the TV show Smash. Why pick this song? That show sucks. She was OK but not spectacular. She did not get any chair turns. It always amazes me that the UK version of the show often shows these rejection moments and we rarely see them in the U.S.

Callum Butterworth

Young Callum is only 17-years-old and he made quite an impression on Olly with his rendition of Mercy by Shawn Mendes. Not bad for a guy named after a maple syrup. (rimshot)

Stephan Mahendra

This fool can sing. He did Redbone by Childish Gambino, which has some pretty high notes. But he killed it and got chair turns from both Jennifer and Olly. He eventually went with Olly who is having a pretty good show so far.

Robin Martin

Robin sang You Gotta Be by Des’ree and he was passably good. But passably good isn’t going to get you far this far in the competition on The Voice UK. So, alas, he got no chair turns. Que Triste.

Jack Morlen

Wow, these coaches are being totally mean this episode. Jack sang Scared To Be Lonely by Martin Garrix and Dua Lipa and it was really good I thought, but the coaches did not agree and did not get any chair turns.

Ilianna

Illianna is a singer in the raw, Amy Whinehouse sense. She even kind of looks like her. She impressed Will with her version of Location by Khalid and ended up on his team.

Craig Forsyth

Craig is not a professional singer, which of course is the whole point of the show. But he was better than a lot of the other so-called pros. He sang The Impossible Dream and got on team Jen and you know Jen only chooses the best singers.

Bethzienna Williams

Not only is this young woman drop-dead gorgeous, she’s also got a set of pipes that impressed the legendary Jennifer Hudson. She sang Cry To Me by Solomon Burke. I’m surprised no shoes were thrown.

Roger Samuels

Roger is a pastor and it shows. He took us to church when he sang Footprints in the Sand by Leona Lewis and got chair turns from Tom and Jennifer and ended up on team Tom…which I think is a mistake. Who knows better about Church voices than Jen?
