‘The Voice’ Top 5 Blow the Roof Off in the Season 20 Finals

The Voice returned for the Finals of Season 20 on Monday night. The Top 5 artists delivered two performances each, and they gave viewers a tough job as they decide the winner for tomorrow night’s results show.
The artists each sang a song dedicated to someone important in their lives (with an emotional letter to go along with it), as well as an up-tempo song that represents them as an artist. They totally stepped up to the plate and delivered some amazing performances.
Viewers have until Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. ET to vote for their favorite artists. The winner of Season 20 will be announced in a star-studded finale on Tuesday night.
‘The Voice’s Cam Anthony Dedicates Performance to Equality
Team Blake’s Cam Anthony chose an interesting approach for his letter to someone important in his life. He spoke about “peace, love, and equality for all,” and dedicated his performance to this idea. He chose the perfect song, singing “Stand Up” by Cynthia Erivo.
Cam’s performance was worthy of an award show. He started on a raised white platform above dancers dressed in red. These dancers performed around him as he stepped off the platform and continued to sing. All four coaches gave him a standing ovation.
John Legend told Cam that he’s “so ready for this stage,” calling it a “blessing” to watch him. Cam told the coach that he’s inspired by him when delivering these types of performances. Blake Shelton, meanwhile, told Cam that he “may change everything for this show.”
Kenzie Wheeler Tears Up Talking About His Hometown
Team Kelly’s country star Kenzie Wheeler wrote an emotional letter to his hometown of Dover, Florida. He teared up talking about the “lifelong friends” he made there, and went on to perform “The Keeper of the Stars” by Tracy Byrd.
His performance was understated, and showcased his great voice. Nick Jonas told Kenzie that he’s been “so fun to watch” throughout the entire season, while Kelly Clarkson described him as “effortless” and “natural.”
It wasn’t the only time during Monday’s show that Kenzie spoke about his hometown. He shared that his other song, “Heartland” by George Strait, reminds him of his home and driving with his mom.

Rachel Mac Belts Out Fleetwood Mac’s ‘The Chain’
Nick Jonas said he thought he “hit the lottery” when Rachel Mac joined his team in the Blind Auditions. During tonight’s show, the 16-year-old performed “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac. The stage was decorated to make it look like she was in a grassy field beside a beautiful tree.
Rachel belted out the song, showing just how strong her voice can be, in addition to the “sweetness” that Kelly Clarkson praised after her other performance of the night, “I Hope You Dance.” She even removed her hat in a dramatic moment during the performance.
John Legend joked that it looked like she brought the Garden of Eden into the studio. He added that the performance was “so fun to watch,” while Jonas told Rachel that it “would have been an amazing concert.”
Jordan Matthew Young Shows a New Side of Himself
Team Blake’s Jordan Matthew Young dedicated one of his performances to his grandmothers. He chose to sing “Stay” by Rihanna. It was interesting to see him take on a song that might not seem to fit with his style. He managed to make it his own.
Jonas told Jordan that he has “such a cool voice,” adding that he’s “so excited to buy your record.” Shelton said the performance showed a “completely different layer of Jordan that none of us have heard before.”
Tonight’s episode also featured a funny moment when Shelton pointed out that Jordan looks a lot like Justin Derrico, a guitarist in the show’s band. Jordan said people have contacted him about it, mistakenly believing that it’s him playing in the band.
Victor Solomon Closes the Show with a Beyoncé Cover
Team Legend’s Victor Solomon delivered an out-of-this-world performance to close the show. He sang “Freedom” by Beyoncé. The high-energy performance was accompanied by backup dancers, as Victor sang and danced in front of a screen showing the American flag.
The coaches were on their feet at the end of it, with Clarkson declaring, “That was freaking awesome!” Legend went a step further, calling it the “best performance I’ve witnessed on this stage,” and adding that Victor has a “complete mastery” of his skills as a musician. It was the perfect way to end the show.
