‘The Voice’ Season 16 Live Top 24 Performances Recap: Who Will Make the Cut?

The Voice Playoffs were a marathon tonight! With 24 performances in only two hours, host Carson Daly was on point in making sure the show moved along! Tomorrow marks the biggest cut with nearly half of the contestants being eliminated. So who made a strong enough impact to make it into the Top 13? Let’s get into tonight’s performances.

Team Kelly brought in a strong team into the playoffs! With six strong contenders, she definitely has a diverse bunch! We asked our talent recap family who their favorites were from Team Kelly and Jej was the most common answer. Let us know if you agree!

Rod Stokes

Starting the show off with a bang was Rod from Team Kelly performing to Midnight Rider.

Matthew Johnson

Matthew never resists to put a smile on your face and this performance to Ordinary People did just that! He’d be a great asset to the Top 13 and I’m rooting for him!

Rebecca Howell

This powerhouse country singer once again didn’t disappoint with her performance to Wild One.

Presley Tennant

Presley was on my radar after her incredible cross-battle performance and this one definitely lived up to the hype. The young female artist knocked it out of the park with her performance to Nothing Breaks Like a Heart.

Abby Kasch

Another female country artist on Team Kelly! Abby was incredible and performed to the song I Got the Boy.

Jej Vinson

Jej has definitely been a favorite since the Blind Auditions with his four-chair turn. His performance to Love Lies did not disappoint. I’d be shocked if he wasn’t in tomorrow’s Top 13.

Team John brings in another six artists to the playoffs and they did not disappoint! Who from his team do you think will make it in the Top 13?

Lisa Ramey

Starting off Team John with a lot of sass and fire was Lisa performing to The Weight. I love the way she interacts with the audience and her entertainment factor is incredible. Hoping to see her in tomorrow’s Top 13!

Jacob Maxwell

Next up was Jacob who performed to the classic song Total Eclipse of the Heart.

Jimmy Mowery

Jimmy took the stage next to perform to Young Blood with lots of energy. Although he had a lot of stamina, his team is competitive. We’ll see if this was enough to make it to the Top 13!

Celia Babini

This former Team Adam member who was stolen by John did not disappoint tonight. Her tone and voice are unique to the competition, and she stood out singing The Chain by Fleetwood Mac. Here’s to hoping she makes it in the next round!

Maelyn Jarmon

Performing to Falling Water, Maelyn seemed to hit every note. Her voice is truly amazing and in my opinion, she’s one of the stronger contenders of the competition.

Shawn Sounds

Ending Team John on an energetic and fun note is Shawn performing to Higher Ground. He was incredible and definitely seemed to be a favorite with the audience.

Team Adam brought in the least artists to the playoffs. Does his four artist have what it takes to make it to the Top 13? Lets find out!

Kalvin Jarvis

First up on Adam’s team was Kalvin who has been a favorite of Adam’s since the beginning. He performed to the song Mine.

Betsy Ade

You can always count on Betsy for an energetic and fun performance. She performed to the classic song Are you Gonna Be My Girl.

One of my favorite performances of the night was Mari! She was filled with energy and sass while performing Beyonce’s song Work It Out.

Domenic Haynes

Last but not least on Team Adam is Domenic. He is one that always stands out from the crowd and leaves an emotional impact in his performances, and this particular one to Love Is a Losing Game did not disappoint!

Team Blake had the most artists on his team and doubled Adam with a whopping eight contestants!

Andrew Sevener

Starting off Team Blake on a strong note is Andrew Sevener performing to Boots On. He came in with a lot of energy and definitely had the crowd engaged! If his performances continue to be this good, he’ll be on his way to the Top 13!

Next up is Blake’s save in the cross battles which was Selkii! This South African singer has a unique tone and performed to the song Iris. Though her performance was solid, she’s up against a lot of talent on Team Blake so it’s hard to predict if she’ll make it to the Top 13!

Oliv Blue

This jazz queen looked amazing and her presence goes far beyond her years. Performing to The Girl From Ipanema showed the audience that she’s definitely a stand out on Team Blake!

Gyth Rigdon

It’s no secret that Gyth is a Season 16 favorite. His performance to I Wanna Be Loved Like That was heartfelt and left the crowd wanting more. After last week’s compliments from both Blake and Adam predicting that he’ll be in the finals, something tells me his name will be in the Top 13 tomorrow night.

Kendra Checketts

Blake must have been thrilled to have Kendra back on his team this week because she did not disappoint. Her performance to the song Bad Guy definitely left a mark, but we’ll see if it’s enough to make it to the next round!

Carter Lloyd Horne

Bringing an Elvis vibe to this performance is Carter who sang to Heartbreak Hotel. Did he do Elvis justice? We’ll find out tomorrow night!

Kim Cherry

Kim was next up and performed to a slower song than usual. Choosing Waterfalls was a different approach but I found her rapping very unique and fun to watch.

Dexter Roberts

Last but certainly not least was Dexter. He closed out the marathon and performed to Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You.
