Which Artists Are Safe?
The following artists were announced as moving on to the Top 11 based on America’s votes on Monday night. Carson announced them in no particular order.
Team Gwen Performs
Gwen Stefani was joined by her team members Myracle Holloway, Joana Martinez, and Rose Short for a performance of “Good as Hell” by Lizzo. They were joined on stage by several backup dancers.
Team Kelly Performs
Kelly Clarkson and her team members Max Boyle, Hello Sunday, Jake Hoot, and Shane Q performed “Linger” by the Cranberries during Tuesday’s results show. Kelly had the most singers on her team, thanks to Hello Sunday’s save last week.
‘The Voice’ Instant Save Performances
Cali Wilson, Max Boyle, and Joana Martinez were all in the bottom three after Monday night’s vote. They each performed a song, and America then had five minutes to vote for which artist they wanted to keep in the competition.
Cali Wilson (Team Blake)
Cali performed a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain.” John Legend said he liked seeing the “fire” on this side of her talent. Blake Shelton told her that she deserves to be on the show, and that performance proved it.
Max Boyle (Team Kelly)
Max sang Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” for his Instant Save performance. His former coach John called him a “gifted singer” and a “joy to watch.” Kelly said she thinks Max is “so talented” and encouraged America to vote for him.
Joana Martinez (Team Gwen)
Joana sang “Superwoman” by Alicia Keys. John complimented her range, calling her an “impressive young lady.” Gwen said she didn’t know the performance would be “that incredible.”
America’s Instant Save vote ultimately went to … Joana Martinez! That means Cali Wilson and Max Boyle went home. Do you agree with the viewers’ decision? Did your favorite make it through? Let us know in the comments.
