All 4 Coaches Have Finally Filled Their Teams On ‘The Voice’
This week, all four coaches Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend battled it out to get the remaining artists to fill their teams on The Voice. Here’s what happened in this week’s episode and the incredible contestants who auditioned.
Julia Cooper is a songwriter that is unlike anyone else. She describes herself as weird and quirky. She has worked four jobs once moving from Ohio to Tennessee. She lost three of her jobs when the pandemic hit but singing has been her dream. John immediately turned his chair followed by Gwen and Kelly while she sang “Alaska” by Maggie Rogers. John loved that she had both power and a sweet tone unlike anybody else. She chose to be on Team John.
Apropos began playing piano and performing when he was a child. He has previously been praised by Elton John so he had high hopes coming into his Blind Audition on The Voice. He sang “I Heard It Through The Grapevine” by Marvin Gaye. Unfortunately, none of the coaches turned their chairs for him.
John Sullivan had a love for baseball since he was a little kid. He played a few years of independent pro baseball. He is a family man and loves being a father to his young son. Immediately once the coaches heard his country tone singing Operator (That’s Not the Way It Feels), all eyes were on Blake. Both Blake and Gwen turned their chairs. John ended up choosing to be on Team Blake which was no surprise.
Skylar Alyvia Mayton
This 15-year-old had her eyes on Kelly as a coach before she performed. Kelly has previously won the competition with two teenagers. She was the only one to turn her chair making her a member of Team Kelly after her performance of “Blinding Lights” but The Weeknd.
Lain Roy sang “Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi for his Blind Audition. The 22-year-old had both John and Gwen turning their chairs at the same time. The small-town boy decided that moving to Nashville was best for his music career and is looking for his big break on The Voice. he decided to be on Team Gwen.
Jared Ming loves living on the island of Hawaii. None of the coaches turned their chairs for him. The coaches praised his tone because it sounds like it was made for a record. Blake bonded with him over his love of country.
Worth The Wait
This trio consists of two sisters and their mother. They have been singing for their entire lives and realized they could harmonize together. Worth The Wait previously went viral with a video of them singing in a supermarket. Originally their trio is with their older sister. Their mother took her place due to the fact that their sister needed to care for her baby with special needs and they were ready to take on The Voice. They sang Linda Ronstadt’s “When Will I Be Loved.” Gwen turned her chair first followed by the three other coaches making this a four-chair turn. They ultimately ended up filling the final spot on Team Blake.
Emmalee is a 20-year-old traveling musician who is thankful for the opportunity to be on The Voice. She performed a stripped down version of “How Will I Know” by Whitney Houston. John and Kelly both turned their chairs. Kelly complimented her breathing techniques while singing. She chose to be on Team Kelly, filling the last spot on the team.
Bailey Rae comes from a long line of rodeo men and women. She started singing in church from a young age and has previously played at Blake’s venue. John was the only coach who turned his chair. She automatically became a member of Team Legend and is ready to bring the country. In the process, John drew on Blake’s cardboard cutout after he kept intervening in the critiques. Blake implied that John was going to drop the ball on Baley during the Battle Rounds.
Neci is a nurse from Nashville that has been working very hard during the pandemic. While the coaches praised her for her vocal talents, it was not enough to make it onto the show.
Tori Miller grew up on stage singing the classics after they opened an opry in her town. After the death of her father, she was picking up the pieces of her life. She sang “When You Sang Nothing At All” and Gwen was the only one to turn her chair. Tori is the final member of Team Gwen.
James is a dad but you would never be able to tell that from his sexy hip Blind Audition. He sang “Watermelon Sugar” by Harry Styles. John was the only coach with a spot on his team and he ended up turning his chair. James is a member of Team Legend and the very last Blind Audition on this season of The Voice.
