‘The Voice’ Contestant Makes Ed Sheeran’s Song Her Own In Stunning Performance [VIDEO]
NBC Sharane Calister took on Ed Sheeran’s soulful hit “Make It Rain” on season 14 of The Voice. She added her own spin to the already soulful song and really had emotions running high during her Blind Audition. Check out the epic performance below.
The Voice’s Sharane Calister Took On An Ed Sheeran Classic And What She Does Next Is…
Sharane started off with a fresh take on this hit song. She brought such a unique energy to the performance. Alicia Keys finally turned her chair midway through the performance. Truthfully it was a bit of a shock that the coaches did not turn sooner after Sharane poured her heart and soul into the performance.
Alicia screamed at the other coaches to press their buttons. “We’re not going to have a chance” Kelly Clarkson whispered. She just felt like Sharane sounded like an R&B artist that would fit more into Alicia’s genre. Kelly once again said that she would not win against Alicia but pressed her button anyway at the last second because there was no denying Sharane’s incredible talent.

This made it an all-out battle for both of the powerhouse coaches to get Sharane on their teams. She did end up choosing to be on Team Alicia just as Kelly predicted. During The Knockouts, Sharane was not chosen as the winner. However, she was stolen by Adam Levine which made her smile from ear to ear.
She made it to the Live Shows where she sang “Never Enough” from The Greatest Showman. After this performance, she posted on Instagram that this was her favorite performance that she did on the show. Later, she found herself fighting for America’s vote singing Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy.” She was then eliminated from the competition after making it to the top 11 which came as a bit of a shock.
Where Is She Now?
After competing on The Voice, it became clear that Sharane made strong bonds with some of her fellow competitors. In several Instagram videos, they can all be seen hanging out and singing together which is one of the best parts about The Voice, the friendships. Sharane refers to her fellow season 14 contestants as her “‘Voice’ Family.”
In February of 2020, Sharane released her newest single called “Love You.” It is available on Apple Music and YouTube. Her YouTube channel is also full of videos and clips from performances she has done in the past few years.
More recently, Sharane posted a little sneak peek of a song she is working on. She teased that she has new music coming out with the hashtag #newmusiccomingsoon. Her fans cannot wait to hear some new music from her after seeing her rise to stardom on The Voice.
