‘The Voice’ Coaches Clap Back At Blake Shelton For Accusing Them Of Being ‘Hollywood’
When we think of which stars are dominating Hollywood, our first thought is all four coaches on The Voice, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Nick Jonas and Blake Shelton. But Blake is convinced that the other coaches have “gone Hollywood” and he is still the same humble country boy from Oklahoma.
Blake Shelton Accuses ‘The Voice’ Coaches Of Being Hollywood
Each season, Blake finds new ways to sway artists to choose to be on his team. On Season 20 of The Voice he has made it a point to call out the judges for going Hollywood. “I am the only coach who doesn’t live in Hollywood. I don’t ever want to lose sight of my roots. I don’t want to get lost in the machine. All three of you have gone Hollywood” Blake says during an episode.
“When I actually think of the word Hollywood I think of people who’ve forgotten where they came from” he adds in an interview. In another clip while the coaches are waiting for the next performer to take the stage, Blake says “you guys have all three gone Hollywood.”
This prompts the most epic response from Kelly. “I have no time for you” she says while focused on her cell phone. This causes John and Nick to laugh.
“People like a Kelly Clarkson, Like a John Legend, Like a Nick Jonas or somebody like that. Those people are Hollywood” Blake’s rant continues behind the scenes.
Blake Is Getting Married To The Queen Of Hollywood
“Don’t go Hollywood” Blake advises one contestant. John points out that this is Blake’s new line. “Oh my gosh if Blake Shelton talks about me and John or Nick being Hollywood one more time. You are dating like the queen of Hollywood” Kelly adds.
This is so true. Blake is not only dating the queen of Hollywood, but the pair are set to get married. Gwen Stefani grew up in California and as Kelly mentioned, she is the definition of a California girl. The coaches began dating in 2015 after meeting on The Voice. They got engaged in 2020.
“I don’t think it matters where you’re from if you’re Hollywood or not or if you’re pop or country, soul whatever the genre is it’s music at the end of the day” Nick says as the voice of reason.
Many of the past contestants on The Voice have stayed true to their roots over the years. Check out the What’s Hot Video below featuring the 10 most successful contestants of all time.
John thinks that Blake is the one who fears he is too Hollywood deep down. He suggests that Blake change the spelling of his name to Blaque.
“I do work in Hollywood there’s no question about it” Blake admits. However, he maintains that he still lives in Oklahoma. Blake and Gwen spent a lot of time at his Oklahoma ranch amid the coronavirus pandemic. Their families got to bond and he even proposed there. While his country roots remain strong, the couple also purchased a $13.2 million Encino, California home together last year.
