The New ‘Bachelorette’ Has Dated Younger Men But Is Nervous, Are They “Ready For Me, For My Age”?

With the current season of The Bachelor winding down, it’s time to find out who will be the next star of The Bachelorette. ABC made the announcement on Good Morning America, and she’s a serious Bachelor franchise veteran.

The next Bachelorette will be Clare Crawley! Unlike last year’s star Hannah Brown (who starred in the previous Bachelor season), Clare appeared on The Bachelor several years ago.

Who Is New ‘Bachelorette’ Clare Crawley?

Clare first appeared on Season 18 of The Bachelor in 2014, looking for love with Juan Pablo Galavis. She made it to the top two and famously told Juan Pablo off for his crude behavior. This made her a fan favorite in the Bachelor Nation.

In the years since, she’s appeared on two more Bachelor-related shows, with two stints on Bachelor in Paradise in 2014 and 2015, and a season of Bachelor Winter Games in 2018. On this last season, she got engaged to former Bachelorette contestant Benoit Beauséjour-Savard, but they split not long after.

“I literally just found out. So unexpected!” Clare said of her announcement as the next Bachelorette. “Can you believe this? I cannot believe it. I mean, six years later. What is happening?”

How Old Is Clare Crawley?

GMA host Lara Spencer pointed out that the current Bachelor finalists are no older than 25, while Clare is 38 years old. She asked Clare about why she thinks her age will actually be an “advantage” as the Bachelorette.

“I feel like a lot of people put it out there as this negative thing,” Clare said, “but for me, it just is more years under my belt, more learning and knowing what I want, what I don’t want, and what I won’t settle for.”

She added that she’s dated younger men, and is open to it again. “The thing is, I’m wondering if they’re ready for me, for my age,” she added. “So I feel like that would be more of an issue than me with them. Because I feel so much younger at heart than my actual age.”
