‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ & ‘Life of Pi’ Star Irrfan Khan Battling Cancer — Dies
Irrfan Khan passed away today at a hospital in India. He was Hollywood’s best-known face from Bollywood who made quite a splash all over the world. The 53-year-old actor had been battling cancer since 2018 and he passed away due to a colon infection.
Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi Tweeted his grief, “Irrfan Khan’s demise is a loss to the world of cinema and theatre. He will be remembered for his versatile performances across different mediums. My thoughts are with his family, friends and admirers. May his soul rest in peace.
Irrfan Khan’s Amazing Journey To Critical Acclaim In Hollywood
Irrfan played the police inspector in “Slumdog Millionaire” and the park executive Masrani in “Jurassic World.” He also appeared in “The Amazing Spider-Man” and the adventure fantasy “Life of Pi.”
Khan received an Independent Spirit Award for supporting actor in 2006 for the Indian-American drama “The Namesake” and a viewers’ choice award at the Cannes festival 2013 for his role in the Indian romantic drama “The Lunchbox.”
He was a beloved Bollywood actor known for his method acting and intense performances. Irrfan is survived by his wife Sutapa and sons – Babil and Ayan.
