The Adorable Way Gwen Stefani’s Kids Were Involved In Blake Shelton’s Proposal
Instagram Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are celebrating their recent engagement thanks to a little help from her sons Kingston, 14, Zuma, 12, and Apollo, 6 that she shares with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. They were all in on the proposal plan and it really makes you say “aw” when you think about how Blake has become a second father figure to them.
How Were Gwen Stefani’s Kids Involved in Blake Shelton’s Proposal?
A source close to the couple spoke to Entertainment Tonight to dish on Blake’s proposal with the kid’s involvement. “Blake is very close to Gwen’s boys,” the source said. “They talked it through and Blake made sure they were part of the excitement! Blake had a custom-made engagement ring. He knows the designer and has used them in the past to make bracelets for Gwen.” That is literally adorable, there is really no other word to describe it. The kids were in on it “every step of the way.” While we have yet to get a close-up of the ring, it is valued at somewhere around $800,000.

The engagement was actually very near and dear to Gwen’s heart. “The engagement happened at the chapel Blake built for Gwen on the grounds of their Oklahoma home,” an insider close to Blake told In Touch. “He originally built the chapel for Gwen because she is a very devout Catholic and he wanted to make her feel comfortable with her transition from LA to Oklahoma. Her faith is incredibly important to her and Blake knows that” a source told Hollywood Life. The pair quarantined with the children along with several of their other family members before traveling back and forth to film The Voice.

Blake Asked Gwen’s Dad For Her Hand In Marriage
As if Blake couldn’t be any more of a southern gentleman, he actually asked her dad, Dennis for her hand in marriage. “Gwen is very traditional so he truly felt that asking her father for approval was the proper thing to do” the insider continued. “And her father adores Blake. Gwen has been ready to tie the knot for a long time and Blake knew this was the perfect time.”
For Blake, spending so much time with Gwen during the pandemic helped him see that it was time to pop the question. The pair have been dating for five years since meeting on The Voice and bonded over similar situations with divorce. This downtime has allowed them to “just appreciate and love each other.” The pair also recently purchased a $13.2 million love nest in Encino, California.

Blake and Gwen have definitely had us melting over their relationship from the start and it’s so nice to see her children love having Blake around too.
