Terry Crews Wasn’t Supposed To Announce ‘White Chicks 2,’ According To Marlon Wayans
Terry Crews isn’t just the current host of America’s Got Talent and a former NFL player. He’s also an actor, know for the TV series Brooklyn Nine-Nine and several movies. One of his most famous roles is in the 2004 movie White Chicks. Earlier this week, he shared that a sequel was in the works.
“I actually got with Shawn [Wayans], and he was like, ‘Man, we’re doing it. We’re getting it going,'” Terry said in response to a fan’s question on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live. “I’m staying in shape just for that movie.”
Terry Shouldn’t Have Spilled The Beans
Terry’s announcement was good news for fans of the original movie, but he apparently wasn’t supposed to let the cat out of the bag. The movie’s star and co-writer Marlon Wayans posted a funny response on Instagram earlier this week in which he lightheartedly called Terry out for the comments.
“My face when @terrycrews tells the world #whitechicks2 is happening but we still don’t have a deal in place… ” Marlon captioned an image from the movie that captured his nervousness over the situation. He added that fans were sending him DMs asking if the news was true. “Um… NO! Not yet,” he wrote, adding the hashtag #ohterry.
How Terry Responded
Terry didn’t ignore Marlon’s post. In fact, he commented on it. “Sorry man!” he wrote. “I’m only ready when you are!”
So it looks like fans shouldn’t get their hopes up just yet, but at least there’s a conversation happening about the sequel. And hey, maybe Terry’s comments (and the enthusiastic fan reaction) will end up being the key to getting a deal in place.
It’s also funny to note that another co-star from the original movie, Busy Philipps, also commented, “Well. I, for one, was excited.”
