Teen Singer Makes The Judges Cry With Song For His Late Brother — The Story of Fletcher Pilon

Australia’s Got Talent contestant Fletcher Pilon brought the judges to tears with his performance of an original song written for his late brother. The powerful moment affected everyone watching.


Fletcher was just 14 years old when he auditioned for the show. Watch his heartbreaking performance in the video below, and read on to find out what the judges had to say about it and his journey on the show.

Fletcher Pilon’s Audition On ‘Australia’s Got Talent’

Fletcher stepped onto the stage with his guitar and told the Australia’s Got Talent judges that he would be performing a song called “Infinite Child” for his brother Banjo. “He passed away about three and a half months ago.”

He said the song was about how “he’s always going to be with me.” In the lyrics, Fletcher sings, “There’s nothing I liked more than being right by your side.” Later, he tells his brother, “You’re always with me.”

Banjo was just 10 years old when he tragically passed away after being hit by a car while skateboarding. As Fletcher performed the song for him, the judges got choked up, wiping away tears.

“It was definitely harder than I expected getting up there — it was quite emotional,” Fletcher said of his audition. “But this is something I wanted to do for my brother.”


Fletcher Pilon Went On To Win Australia’s Got Talent

Judge Ian Dickson spoke through tears as he complimented Fletcher’s tone and stage presence. Sophie Monk couldn’t hold it together and she said it was one of the best things she’s seen in years. Sophie then famously forms a very close bond with Fletcher thoughout the whole show. Eddie Perfect said he was “so strong” for performing such an emotional song.

Fletcher ends up it to the grand finale, where he reprises his song “Infinite Child” and ends up winning Australia’s Got Talent. He had previously competed on The Voice Kids, but didn’t make it past the battle round.

Sophie Monk Falls In Love With Fletcher

Actress Sophie Monk would not stop gushing over Fletcher on Social media and elsewhere. “If you want to see the ugliest cry ever #thisboytho” she posted a teaser on Instagram. In another post she’s seen affectionately hugging and kissing Fletcher with the caption that says in part: “Adam Levine and Daniel johns have nothing on this boy!… ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I love him… Who doesn’t X”. She even used the hashtag #thisBoyHasMyHeart

Where’s Fletcher Now?

Now 19, Fletcher has released several singles, and put out an EP called Thoughts last year. Check out his video for the song “Water” above. Fletcher previously released another EP in 2015 called Banjo, which featured “Infinite Child.”
