America’s Got Talent has been a little different lately without supermodel Heidi Klum on the judging panel for the past two episodes. Heidi was sick at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, forcing her to miss a few days of filming the show. Modern Family actor Eric Stonestreet filled in for her, and while she had nothing but love for him on Instagram, more on that later. She was the little girl we all love an adore, as she spoke to Howie Mandel on AGT.
Heidi Klum Talks To Howie Mandel About Missing From ‘America’s Got Talent’
The sweetest moment on America’s Got Talent was of course when Howie called Heidi to check up on her since she has been sick and missing from filming. Since then we can confirm that Heidi was quarantine due to COVID-19 like symptoms but was cleared and she tested negative for it. Following given guidelines, she had to wait for her test results to come in before she came to any public space.
Heidi Klum Thanked Eric Stonestreet For Filling In On ‘America’s Got Talent’
Heidi posted a picture of Eric sitting in her chair backstage at America’s Got Talent. This was taken when Heidi was out sick and host Terry Crews told the audience she was “under the weather.” Heidi captioned the picture “From Modern Family to the @AGT Family. Thank you @ericstonestreet for filling in for me when I was homesick. New episode of #AGT starts now on @nbc!” Eric and judge Sofia Vergara have a great relationship together after appearing for 11 years on the sitcom.
Heidi was clearly very grateful for Eric who actually did quite a good job delivering honest feedback to the acts and definitely looked like he enjoyed himself. Eric even tweeted that he said yes to one of the most disturbing acts of the night Chef Boy Bonez so that Heidi would have to see the act further on in the competition. A huge fan of the show, Heidi of course had to give him props, but we definitely missed her.
Ultimately, it was revealed that Heidi did not have coronavirus, but took the precaution to sit out from the rest of the auditions so that she could get better. Her husband Tom Kaulitz was also sick but tested negative for coronavirus as well. She did not end up returning to the set before production was shut down as coronavirus continued to spread rapidly in California where the show is filmed. Instead, the judges continued to judge auditions through video submissions in the comfort of their own homes.
Heidi Returned To ‘AGT’ To Film Judge Cuts
America’s Got Talent production has started up again with Judge Cuts, but everyone is taking proper safety precautions behind the scenes including wearing masks and social distancing. The new setup is an outdoor screen in front of the judge’s chairs. It appears they will be watching the performances virtually. Heidi posted this picture of the judges and Terry sitting in swivel chairs far apart in what looks to be an empty warehouse. Even Simon Cowell donned a mask to prevent the spread of coronavirus. They’re definitely abiding by social distancing to give fans more episodes to look forward to as they auditions come to a close.
We are so happy that Heidi is fully recovered because America’s Got Talent just isn’t the same without her.
Tune in next week to America’s Got Talent to see what filming was like without an audience before production was shut down before the return of Heidi Klum.
