In case you didn’t know, the feud between the pair supposedly started with a dispute over backup dancers. All the way back in 2014, Taylor’s song “Bad Blood” was believed to be about Katy Perry. The American Idol judge even seemed to throw shade at Taylor last year on the show.

The pair started to patch things up last year, when Katy sent Taylor a literal olive branch and apology letter. In June, Katy appeared in Taylor’s music video for “You Need to Calm Down.” They embraced while wearing hamburger and French fry costumes in the midst of a food fight.

In a new interview with Vogue, Taylor reveals the response she got from Katy when she asked her to be in the video: “She wrote back, This makes me so emotional. I’m so up for this. I want us to be that example. But let’s spend some time together. Because I want it to be real. So she came over and we talked for hours.”

Shortly before the video was released, Katy posted a photo of a plate of cookies with “PEACE AT LAST” written in icing, tagging Taylor. Fans began to speculate that a collaboration was in store between the two women.
What Taylor Swift Thinks Of Their Feud Now
Taylor told Vogue that she and Katy found a “metaphor” for how the media pits women against each other, saying “they pick two people and it’s like they’re pouring gasoline all over the floor.”
“All that needs to happen is one false move, one false word, one misunderstanding, and a match is lit and dropped,” she explained. “That’s what happened with us. It was: Who’s better? Katy or Taylor? Katy or Taylor? Katy or Taylor? Katy or Taylor? The tension is so high that it becomes impossible for you to not think that the other person has something against you.”
Taylor Opens Up About Kim Kardashian Kanye West Feud
Taylor also told Vogue about her feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, which she seems more reluctant to let go of. In 2016, Kim called Taylor a “snake” on Twitter, turning many people against the singer on social media.
“A mass public shaming, with millions of people saying you are quote-unquote canceled, is a very isolating experience,” she told the magazine. “I don’t think there are that many people who can actually understand what it’s like to have millions of people hate you very loudly.”
She said making music about the situation was “the only way I could survive it.” That resulted in her 2017 album Reputation.
