Immediately when Daniel’s voice filled the room, the coaches were hanging on to his every word. All four of them turned their chairs and marveled at his smooth tone and ability to make a song his own.
Coach Delta Goodrem complimented Daniel’s immaculate piano playing. “It is that instrument whenever I’ve gone through anything great, terrible, heartbreaking…that is the instrument so to see somebody come up there and play it the way you did, I love the little arpeggio run at the end there,” she said. “It is that beautiful dance that is connected to your voice.”

Guy Sebastian said that Daniel was “a song away from superstardom.” While the coaches were fighting trying to get Daniel on their teams, Boy George asked Daniel if he played guitar. He said yes, but that nobody cares if he could play guitar. This set George off for some reason and he actually ended up exiting the stage. Amidst all of the drama, Daniel ended up choosing to be on Team Delta.
In the Battles, Daniel and The Koi Boys made literally everyone cry singing The Beatles’ “Let It Be” which was dedicated to the victims of the Christchurch massacre.
Daniel was actually named the runner up of the competition while Diana Rouvas from Team George brought home the win. This was his first win as a coach.
