Stevie Wonder pulled out all the stops to celebrate AGT’s frontman Terry Crews and his wife Rebecca King Crews. As a nod to 30 years the musical genius serenaded the pair with his classic hit Ribbon In The Sky.
The AGT funnyman threw an iconic surprise celebration for his wife of 30 years last weekend.
“In the 30 years since we were first married, there were times it seemed life shifted into hyper-speed,” Terry gushed about his forever love, “But there were other instances time ground to a halt— moving to LA and sweeping floors to start over, battles with addiction and depression, losing our home, and actually breaking up for a time. Through all of this, these obstacles have actually made us stronger…owning the realization that our feelings followed our decisions and not the other way around. Choosing to love each other year after year has proven to be the best decision we’ve ever made, and time has always had a wonderful way of showing us what truly matters.”
Take A Stroll Down Memory Lane
Terry and wife Rebecca wed in 1990 and have been as thick as thieves ever since.
However, it wasn’t always a sure thing for the dynamic duo. “He almost got stuck in the friend zone,” Rebecca, told E News back in January. Clearly, Terry used his charm to win over Rebecca’s heart and 30 years and 5 children later, the two couldn’t be happier.
Facing Difficult Times
The twosome has been forthcoming about hardships and challenging times they’ve faced in the past. In addition to Terry coming forward about his sexual assault at the hands of a high-profile Hollywood agent, Terry also revealed his struggle with addiction in his life.
After being assaulted by Adam Venit at a party back in 2016, King-Crews stood behind her beau. Ultimately Venit and Crews settled in September of 2018.
In his book Manhood: How to Be a Better Man or Just Live With One, Terry details that he’d struggled with an addiction to pornography. The addiction almost cost him his marriage.
During an appearance on Dr Phil Terry revealed he sought out help for his addiction, ultimately saving his relationship with his wife of over two decades. Rebecca admitted it took her a few years before she could completely trust her husband again.
“When someone knows you from good all the way to the rottenest, dirtiest part of you, and loves you anyway, that’s the rarity, that’s where you want to be,” Terry told Dr.Phil in March of 2018.
Thankfully the couple persevered and pushed through these obstacles head on, emerging stronger than ever.
The sky is the limit for Terry and Rebecca. Terry continues to make America smile live from the AGT stage, while wife Rebecca released her single Destiny in 2018.
We’re so lucky we get to continue to watch the Crews love story unfold. Cheers Terry and Rebecca!
