Two teenage sisters blew the judges away on The Voice Kids in Germany last year. Their names are Mimi and Josefin, and they performed an incredible cover of Radiohead’s “Creep” for their blind audition.
The performance turned all four chairs, and the coaches were battling it out to get the girls to join their team. The audience even asked for an encore! Check out the amazing audition in the video below.
Mimi & Josefin Sing ‘Creep’ On ‘The Voice Kids’
Mimi, who was 15 years old, started the haunting song by playing piano and singing into the microphone. Her sister Josefin, who was 13, accompanied her on vocals. As soon as they heard the second voice, coaches Stefanie Kloss and Lena Meyer-Landrut turned their chairs.
It didn’t take long for the other coaches to join them. They were obviously stunned by the girls’ powerful voices and the unexpected song choice. The audience loved it as well. In fact, they shouted for an encore as soon as the performance was done.
The sisters obliged, going back on stage to perform the song again. This time, the judges got to watch the whole thing. They took a long time to make their case for why the girls should join their team.
Mimi & Josefin Ended Up Winning The Show
Mimi and Josefin, aka Mimi & Josy, chose to join Team BossHoss. They were so good that they ended up winning the entire season. During their time in the competition, they also performed “One” by U2 and “Sign of the Times” by Harry Styles.
It’s no surprise that the two sisters have such a knack for music, as their mother is an opera singer and their father is a music professor. After their win, they teamed up with The BossHoss to record a single called “Little Help.”
Mimi and Josy returned for the next season of The Voice Kids as backstage presenters. Earlier this year, they released a new single called “What Are We Afraid Of,” with an accompanying music video. Their latest release is called “Einmal Reisen (Das Lummerlandlied).”
