One of the most unexpected auditions on BGT came from singer Lewis Codling. Or should we say, stripper Lewis Codling. His act started out pretty straightforward, and then turned into something completely different.

By the end of the audition, Lewis and several other men were on stage in only their underwear. Check out the shocking performance in the video below, and read on to find out how the judges reacted.

‘BGT’ Singing Act Turns Into A Stripper Routine

Lewis Codling came out on stage by himself, wearing a white shirt and an undone black bowtie. The 27-year-old told the BGT judges that he would be singing for them, and then launched into an a cappella rendition of “Let’s Get It On” by Marvin Gaye.

Part of the way through the song, Lewis acted like his mic wasn’t working, and several crew members ran out on stage to help him. But it turned out that they weren’t crew members at all. Instead, they were male strippers who removed their hoodies and danced as Lewis sang “Runaway Baby” by Bruno Mars.

The audience went wild as the dancers approached the BGT judges’ table and removed their shirts. They finished the performance by ripping off their pants. However, Lewis kept his on, prompting Alesha Dixon to ask why. He then ripped them off to reveal underwear covered in the Union Jack.

What Did The Judges Think Of The Performance?

“That was so crafty and so clever the way you did that, Lewis,” Alesha said. “That was brilliant.” Simon Cowell agreed that they had him “fooled.” He asked them where they usually performed.

One of the dancers tried to reply, but his mouth was dry. So BGT judge David Walliams walked on stage to offer him his own glass of water. David then proceeded to hug each of the dancers. That’s when the audience started chanting for him to take off his own pants.

“I’m not sure you really want me to take my clothes off,” David said. “It’s not quite as nice as that.” He and the other judges voted “yes” to send the group, whose official name is Forbidden Nights, to the next round.

Since appearing on BGT, Forbidden Nights has gone on tour in the UK and even had a London residency. You can follow them on Instagram or check out their YouTube channel for more performances.
