Simon Cowell AGT Bad ActsNBC

Simon Cowell is always telling people like it is. When an act on America’s Got Talent is bad, he will definitely let them know. This time, he took a new approach by removing himself from the panel all together when he stormed off during a streak of bad acts.

Simon Cowell Thought Now Man’s Song “Funky Space” Was Anything But Funky

The first act that set Simon off was a gentleman singing a song called “Funky Space.” He confidently said that his name is Dan Nowman. He sounded promising when he came out and announced that he thinks music brings people together and the ‘AGT’ stage is the perfect place to do that. Between his leather pants and bright red blazer, he seemed super cheerful before he went ahead and put on an alien mask. This is definitely when the performance took a turn. It turns out the song “Funky Space” is literally just him saying the words “funky space” over and over again. This prompted an immediate X from Howie Mandel followed by Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara. Simon’s face during this performance was priceless.

“The pants are great, but not my type of song,” said Sofia after the performance. “Dan, never give up,” said Simon after he failed to advance to the next round. The old Simon definitely would have ripped into this performance a lot more. These two women in the audience were also not a fan of Dan’s performance.

Simon Was Not A Fan Of This Roller Skating Group

Next up was the Old School Skaters. They are literally just older people who roller skate. Simon asked the group where they expect to see themselves in five years’ time. One man says he hopes they can take their act on tour and travel as well as teach people how to skate. They basically just want to show people that roller skating still exists. It all seemed very promising as Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” blared over the stage. Pretty much all this act did was some mediocre dance moves that did not impress any of the judges. They got four X’s and the performance was shut down. Just as this was happening, one of their members that was patiently waiting backstage to do some tricks skated out and was really getting into it. He didn’t even get to have his time in the spotlight.

Terry Crews said that “their secret weapon did not get the chance to do its weapon thing.” The guy was mad that he did not get the opportunity to come out and do his split before the judges buzzed the act. Simon told him that he should have come out from backstage earlier.

A Sock Puppet Throwing Up On The ‘AGT’ Stage Set Simon Off

The next act simply known as Michael from Munster, Indiana kept the slew of bad acts going. He describes himself as a performance artist that has been doing art his whole life. “We could do with somebody being good,” said Simon noticeably fed up by the lack of good acts. Everyone was curious as to what this act would turn out to be. Well, it turned out to be sock puppets. Michael made it to the world’s biggest stage and showed off his sock puppet performance. It was at one point where he made the sock puppet literally throw upon him that caused him to get four X’s from all of the judges. It was so disgusting and Simon had enough.

The judges refused to comment any further about the act. “We’re not having a great run right now Michael,” said Simon. Howie jokingly suggested that the back door was open and random people were just walking on the stage and performing bad acts. Before the next act came onto the stage, Simon stood up from his seat and announced he needed a break. He then walked off. We don’t see this very often but it was clear that these bad performances were a lot to sit through. Don’t worry, he eventually came back to the judging panel but was definitely frustrated that the talent was not up to par as the previous season.

It did eventually get better with the remaining performances of the night, and Terry Crews even hit his Golden buzzer for Voices Of Our City Choir.
