Simon Cowell Reveals What He Really Thinks About ‘Hans’ After Trashing Him On ‘AGT’
It turns out that Simon Cowell and Accordion Hans from AGT have quite the friendship going off screen. Simon may have been tough on Hans while judging his act, but he had some nice things to say about him on Australian TV recently.
Hans, who is actually Australian, reached the quarterfinals of AGT Season 13, and then made it to the Top 10 of AGT: The Champions earlier this year. His campy act frequently divided the judges.
Simon Cowell Talks About ‘AGT’ Star Hans
Simon recently appeared on the Australian morning show Sunrise, and was informed that Hans had also appeared on the show and “sends his best.” When asked about Hans, Simon said they’ve “developed a bromance.”
He says the first time he saw Hans on AGT, he thought, “What the bloody hell is that?” He explained, “I thought he was, first of all, just a terrible act. Then I realized, after a while, he’s actually a brilliant comedian. He really gets what the show is all about. He’s incredibly smart.”
Hans apparently told Sunrise that Simon was “very kind” to him behind the scenes. Simon said that Hans is “a really decent guy.” Hans himself shared a clip of Simon’s comments on Instagram.
“The man goes on Sunrise for an interview and OF COURSE… who does he spend all the time talk about,” Hans wrote to caption the post. He joked that Simon “Can’t Me Out Of His Head,” Kylie Minogue-style. “Lots of love,” he said to Simon.
What Has Simon Said About Hans In The Past?
Early on, Simon had some nice things to say about Hans — in his own way. He compared his quarterfinals performance in Season 13 to a “horror movie,” but said he “loved it.”
However, when Hans returned for AGT: The Champions this year, Simon gave his peformance the red buzzer and said it was “almost impossible to make that worse.” He said “none of it made sense,” asking, “Where does this go?”
Now we know how Simon really feels about Hans. We’re glad the pair has remained friendly despite their occasional onscreen clashing.
