Simon Cowell Reveals It Would ‘Make Sense’ For An All On One Direction Reunion

Simon Cowell recently spoke to Access on the latest season of America’s Got Talent, Harry Styles’ new music video and his son, Eric. The TV judge also gave an update on whether a One Direction reunion is likely.

America’s Got Talent favorite, Simon Cowell spoke to Access on the future of One Direction. The group, formed by Cowell on The X Factor, was named the biggest boyband in the world after their success on the show, selling millions of records before splitting in 2016.
Simon is still hopeful, however, claiming that it would ‘make sense’ for the group to get back together at some point in the near future, he told Kit Hoover over Zoom: “We’ve always hoped and I think at some point, it would make sense that they do reform.”

All four of the One Direction members are now solo artists, with Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson being the latest to draw eyes with the studio albums, Fine Line, and Walls.

Eric Cowell is growing up fast, and his father isn’t too happy about it. Whilst chatting to Access, Simon was keen to mention that he doesn’t want Eric to grow up. “I said to Lauren the other day — is there any way we can keep him this age forever?” he said in the interview.

The AGT boss also mentioned that he’d prefer to keep Eric behind the camera rather than in front once the 6-year-old enters the world of work. We’ve known for some time now that Simon is keen for Eric to take over the reins of the SYCO franchise once he’s left school.
