Simon Cowell Returns To LA Looking Slimmer After Mexican Getaway — Will ‘AGT’ Begin Production Again?
NBC Simon Cowell along with partner Lauren Silverman and their 6-year-old son Eric were all smiles after returning to Los Angeles from their Mexican getaway. It’s hard not to notice that he looked incredibly trim and lean on his way out of Van Nuys Airport with his family. His return to LA raises several questions about whether or not America’s Got Talent will return to production and allow him to show off his new look.
Is Simon Cowell Back In Town For ‘America’s Got Talent?’
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico has always been a popular vacation destination for the family and they were all smiles as they touched down in the US. Last year in June, Simon and the family went on a Mexican getaway right before the America’s Got Talent live shows began to filming. This seems like a yearly tradition. As we know, the production of America’s Got Talent was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic which forced many parts of the United States to have mandatory lockdowns. Before the peak of the pandemic, ‘AGT’ filmed some auditions with a limited audience. The judges continued judging auditions from home when production was shut down completely through online video submissions.

A mandatory mask order has been put in place in California to help stop the spread of coronavirus. But, Simon promised that ‘AGT’ filming would not continue remotely and that he would do everything he can to work out some solution to the issue of production. At the end of May before going on his Mexican getaway, Simon spoke to People Magazine saying “We’ve worked out about three different scenarios for how we can shoot the live shows with or without an audience, or a limited audience. And each one of them creatively works.” He continued on to say that “The most important thing is that we have to ensure that since people have auditioned, that they do get the chance safely to be able to compete as they normally do, and get that chance to win a million dollars, or at least appear in the final.”
His New Muscular Look Will Shock ‘AGT’ Fans
Simon has really been on a weight loss journey this year which became evident during the filming of Britain’s Got Talent. He looked slimmer and most importantly, happier when he showed up for filming on day one. “With Simon, it was such a gradual thing, but I noticed immediately that he had lost weight. We finished auditions last year and then got back together two weeks later for deliberations and I said straight away, ‘Right, what have you been doing, because you look amazing!” said fellow ‘BGT’ judge Amanda Holden. And, we’re sure that he showed off his new body during his Mexican getaway because he had a glowing tan as he left the airport.
He has said to have lost four inches off of his waist and over 20 pounds. To achieve this transformation, Simon cut sugar out of his diet. He also decreased his meat intake. “All I do is avoid just red meat – white meat is fine – and I eat loads of vegetables, salads and drink this great beer. I’m on a diet but it doesn’t feel like it now because the food I eat is really healthy and I don’t find it tedious. If it’s boring you won’t stick to it” he said.

He did not fully go vegan, but his new eating habits have definitely helped him achieve a slimmer, more toned figure. And he looks super happy with his weight loss journey, especially during the America’s Got Talent auditions this year. So, as fans, we can only hope that the show will begin production soon and we can stare at Simon’s new look.
