Simon Cowell Pleads For Help In First Video Since Accident That Almost Left Him Paralyzed
Simon Cowell has made his first video appearance since breaking his back in an electric bike accident this summer. The ‘BGT’ judge is working with Wishio, to encourage fans to donate to a charity that has a very special meaning for him. Plus, ‘BGT’ fans can have the opportunity to hang out with Simon.
Simon Cowell Seen In First Charity Video Since Electric Bike Accident
This video comes after Simon has been on the mend since his accident. He previously underwent a six-hour surgery to have a metal rod placed in his back. The ‘BGT’ judge quickly was back up on his feet and has made a few public shopping outings with family in recent weeks. He looked relaxed in a grey t-shirt in the yard of his Malibu home where he filmed the video.
“I’m asking you all tonight to help a really, really important charity which is close to my heart, the Hopefield Animal Sanctuary, which was introduced to me by my good friend Leona Lewis,” Simon said in the Wishio video. Hopefield Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit organization caring for sick, unwanted and mistreated animals. Simon is an animal lover and previously followed a vegan diet.
“If you donate tonight, anything you do donate will actually make a difference, and you get a chance to join me, with your friends, at the ‘BGT’ finals and meet me and the rest of the judges.” He finished off by saying that all you have to do to learn more about this opportunity is to download the Wishio app.
Once you donate, you will be entered into a sweepstakes that will allow one lucky ‘BGT’ fan the experience of a lifetime. “Simon is offering one lucky winner and a friend the chance to be whisked away to the finals of Britain’s Got Talent to hang out with him and watch the show from VIP seats. What’s more, you’ll also get to meet the rest of the amazing judges on the show!” the Wishio website says. The contest ends in two months.
Simon Is Slated To Make His Return To Television In 2021
The next season of ‘BGT’ is set to begin filming auditions in 2021. Simon missed out on the taping of season 14 while he was recovering from the accident. Ashley Banjo of the dance group Diversity filled in for him on the judging panel. But Simon is slated to return next season because he is a businessman after all and can’t be away from our television screens for too long. Check out the What’s Hot Video below to see how Simon became the world’s biggest television judge and how he has kept himself motivated all of these years.
“Simon was gutted at having to sit out the show this year,” a source previously told The Sun. “But he’s been totally focused on getting better and will definitely be back on the panel.”
As Simon gears up for his time back in the spotlight, he has been spending time at his Malibu home with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman and their six-year-old son Eric. Simon is also on the list of celebrities to appear at the Fayre of St James’s 2020 Christmas Concert, organized by the Quintessentially Foundation. We are all anxiously waiting to see if he does actually go on to make this public appearance on December 1.
