Simon Cowell Is SHOCKED When ‘X Factor’ Contestant He Eliminated Comes Back [VIDEO]
Janet Grogan first auditioned for The X Factor in 2014 and made it all the way to Simon Cowell’s Six Chair Challenge. Simon nearly cried when he eliminated her from the competition. He was completely shocked to see her return and audition again two years later in season 13. Check out her second audition below.
Janet Grogan Returned To ‘The X Factor’ After Simon Cowell Sent Her Home
Janet admitted that her first time on the show was a bit of a disappointment for her and she considered giving up music. After Simon eliminated Janet from the competition the first time around, he sent out a tweet saying that it was a mistake and that he should have kept her in the competition. This is what she needed to hear to realize that she needed to try a second time and not give up on her dreams.
When she walked into the judging room Simon literally looked like he saw a ghost. He could not believe his eyes but was so happy to see Janet. It was obvious that he regretted sending her home the first time. Janet sang “Pillow Talk” by Zayn Malik. “Janet I know you’re a great singer and I really think Simon made a mistake,” judge Louis Walsh said. This prompted Simon to say that is the reason why he put out the tweet.
“Well Janet at least I can admit to my mistakes and I was always praying that you would come back into the audition room” Simon said. “You got more confident, you got a glow about you and your voice is stunning.” He went on to say that she is the best audition that the panel saw that day. She made it to the next round of the competition after her stunning audition.
When it came to the Judges Houses round of the competition, her mentor Sharon Osbourne did not choose her to go on to the Live Shows. This was a major disappointment considering Janet came up short of making it to the Live Shows twice.
Where Is She Now?
After her shocking elimination from The X Factor, Janet reunited with fellow contestant Saara Aalto. The pair met in Lisbon before the Eurovision Song Contest where Saara was representing Finland and Janet was singing backup vocals for Ryan O’Shaughnessy representing Ireland.
“When I was on The X Factor Janet was there as well and we were in the same group, the Overs and Sharon [Osbourne] was our mentor and we went to judges houses and we shared a room together because we bonded very quickly,” Saara said about Janet.
In 2018, Janet posted that she was watching a television show in which one of her original songs was featured.
