Earlier It was confirmed that after Simon Cowell’s accident, he had to undergo a six-hour surgery. Everyone around him was concerned and America’s Got Talent judge’s fans were freaking out but finally we have some good news from Simon himself.
As page Six had earlier reported, Simon “had to have a big surgery, he’s got a number of breaks and has had to have a metal rod put into his back.” The Got Talent TV judge was at that time in ‘recovery’ and ‘asleep’.
“When he fell off the bike he landed right on his back which broke in a number of places,” a source close to the magazine had reported.
Finally Simon took to Instagram to confirm his wellbeing, he wrote “Some good advice…
If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time.
I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages. And a massive thank you to all the nurses and doctors. Some of the nicest people I have ever met. Stay safe everyone”
We are so glad to finally get some news from the man himself that he’s doing alright!
A spokesperson for Cowell said in a statement to Deadline, “He broke his back in a few places. They operated overnight, the surgery went well, and he is in the hospital recovering.”
The Sun also did report that a source claimed, “He fell flat on his back and the doctors say the impact missed his spinal cord by about a centimeter and it could have been a lot, lot more serious.”
It was also mentioned that Silverman did stay the night at the hospital during the overnight operation.
It has been reported that following the injury, Simon Cowell will skip the first two live AGT shows this coming week, on Tuesday, Aug. 11 and Wednesday, Aug. 12.
There is also the fate of Britain’s Got Talent that hangs by a shaky thread as that too was reported to be filmed this week. Earlier it was reported that Simon will shoot BGT via Zoom and be present in person for AGT but it is likely Simon will make a complete recovery in a few days.
In July it was announced that Simon has taken complete control of AGT and The X Factor. The takeover came after he agreed to buy out Sony Music Entertainment’s stake in the joint venture.
