Simon Cowell Feeling ‘On Top Of The World’ Ahead Of Big ‘BGT’ Return After Bike Accident
Simon Cowell has been off of our television screens for way too long after breaking his back in an electric bike accident back in August. His fellow ‘BGT’ judge Amanda Holden just confirmed that the entertainment mogul will be back on the panel when the show starts filming for season 15 in January.
Amanda Holden Just Confirmed Simon Cowell’s Big ‘BGT’ Return
Amanda did an interview with Loose Women and spilled all of the details about Simon’s big return. “He is, Mr. Cowell is coming back,” she said when asked the age-old question about Simon’s television return. “I spoke to him on the phone a few weeks ago and he feels on top of the world and apparently he looks fantastic as well.”
‘So he’ll be back for the new season which we’re filming in January” she continued. “I can’t wait for it.” Simon previously had to sit out of filming the live shows for season 15 of ‘AGT’ and season 14 of ‘BGT’ after breaking his back in a scary fall in the courtyard in his Malibu home. He underwent a six-hour surgery and had a metal rod placed in his back which we give all the details about in the video below. While many were anticipating he would appear virtually on both shows, he has been recovering at his Malibu home ever since.
Simon is also reportedly looking to sue the manufacturers of the electric bike Swindon Powertrain. A source said that the bike was an “accident waiting to happen.” The source also said they confronted their boss for not teaching Simon how to use the bike before it was dropped off at his house.
Simon Will Not Appear In The Highly-Anticipated Christmas Special
Amanda also shared that Simon will not appear in the upcoming ‘BGT’ Christmas special but she did think he would make a surprise appearance when they were filming it. “There was a moment in the Christmas show to do with magic and I thought, ‘this is it it’s going to be him,’ but it wasn’t, they missed a trick.” It would have been pretty epic to see Simon pop up during a magic act and shock everybody. But fans of ‘BGT’ have been patiently waiting for the head judge to return to the panel so news of his return truly is exciting.
Amanda previously did an interview on ITV where she spoke a little more about this big holiday special. The judges will all be involved in an act in some capacity and it will feature some big-name acts from the ‘BGT’ franchise. She said that she spoke to Simon weeks before and he was looking forward to his big ‘BGT’ return in the new year.
The ‘BGT’ Christmas special will air on Christmas Day, December 25, at 8pm on ITV.
