After his electric bike accident, Simon Cowell has made some big lifestyle changes amid his recovery, starting with his diet. The ‘AGT’ judge was following a vegan diet before the accident but that has since changed after undergoing a six hour back surgery.
Previously Simon sat down for an interview with ex girlfriend Terri Seymour where he revealed his weight loss and how he was managing a healthier lifestyle. “I’m doing a bit of cooking” he said. “I’m exercising quite a lot during this time as well, [I’m] still sticking to the diet so I do feel good at the moment.” He believed that he had lost close to 60 pounds.
Simon Cowell Has Broken His Vegan Diet Amid Bike Accident Recovery
“That’s the wisest thing” she continued about Simon changing his diet. “He was bloated and stressed, then he was too thin and exhausted. Now he is fit and relaxed. He’s found his sweet spot. He sounds relieved and exhilarated. The sea air is so healing and rejuvenating.” Simon has been spending his recovery at his Malibu home with girlfriend Lauren Silverman and their six year old son Eric. The accident occurred in the courtyard of the home back in August.
Simon recently stepped out in public on two separate occasions on shopping outings with his family. He seemed to be in good spirits and was up and walking which put conflicting reports to rest about whether or not he would have a quick recovery.
During his hospital stay, Simon reportedly indulged in some meals brought by Lauren including turkey and one of his favorites, cottage pie. Simon Previously Underwent A Dramatic Weight Loss
Simon went on a health journey last year after doctors advised him to switch up his diet. He cut out red meat, sugar, gluten and bread from his diet among other things. He could not eat the birthday cake that year for his birthday and spoke about it with Ellen DeGeneres.
This year for his 61st birthday, Simon blew out the candles on his birthday cake as his son Eric sang and danced around him. It was a quieter birthday this year at his Malibu home and we could bet that Simon may have finally been able to indulge in a piece of cake with his less strict diet.
It is not clear if Simon plans on returning to his vegan diet once he is fully recovered from the accident.
