Sharon Osbourne Announces She’s Retiring From ‘The X Factor’
- Sharon Osbourne was a…um…colorful addition to The X Factor panel. She’s always got something outrageous to say. After more than 50 years in the entertainment industry, Sharon has announced she’s retiring…in the next 5 years.
Sharon first became a household name when she starred along with her dysfunctional family in The Osbournes. But long before that she was managing her husband, legendary rocker and Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne. Sharon was born into a showbiz family and has been involved one way or another since she was 15. She’s had enough. Who can blame her? She made the announcement of her impending retirement by telling The Sun,
“I’ve given myself five years then it’s time to say goodbye from the industry. It’s very difficult if you’re at a gig and you’re the oldest person in the room. I think when you get to a certain age it can be somewhat embarrassing. I don’t want to be one of those people standing at the side in a mini skirt pretending you love it. No — not for me. I want to go out with dignity. I will spend time with my family, my grandkids and my hubby.”
She also told Ozzy that he has to retire as well. It will be hard to imagine Ozzy not singing Paranoid and giving the devil sign to rabid Black Sabbath fans on stage. What’s he going to do? Play golf?
At any rate, at least she gave Simon Cowell plenty of notice to find another judge.
