See ‘The Block’ In Action In This Sneak Peek Of Season 14 Of ‘The Voice’
So, how exactly does the new block feature work on the show? The coaches get one block per season in which they can keep one of the other coaches from getting an artist for their team. In this clip from season 14 of The Voice, it’s not really a surprise that Blake Shelton uses his block on Adam Levine.
Young Britton Buchanan and his awesome Hawaiian shirt came on the show during the blind auditions and attacked his song with gusto. Alicia, Blake, and Adam turned around for him. The only problem was that Adam was blocked by none other than his frenemy Blake Shelton. Blake really wanted Britton for his team and used his one block per season to get him…and spite Adam. Two birds and all that.
The one problem I have with this new feature is that it takes away choice from the artist. It’s always been in the past that they could choose which coach from those that turned around they wanted as a mentor. What if Britton came on the show wanting Adam and now he can’t have him? That doesn’t seem fair.
