Sassy Dance Group Blows The Judges’ Minds Away On ‘France’s Got Talent’ [VIDEO]
Mistresses competed on France’s Got Talent with a dance routine that featured a whole lot of sass and attitude. Check out their 2019 audition below where they knocked the judge’s socks off as they danced to “Bad Guy” by Billie Eilish.
Mistresses Put On An Energetic Dance Performance On ‘France’s Got Talent’
The female dancers in the group wore identical white outfits while the male lead Andy Da Veiga wore a grey suit. They performed a variety of unique dance moves and incorporated a lot of tutting and whacking into their energetic number. The judges danced along to the number as they watched with excitement.
“The idea premiere for this piece was to create more than a simple group of feminine dancers,” Andy told Talent Recap exclusively. “It was to create a family where every single woman can be themselves artistically.” He went on to say that the idea behind the piece “was to create something powerful and full out. I chose to put a lot of line to emphasize the fact that women can have control of their body and their movements.”
He continued “Being in the center of the combo was a thoughtful decision to let the spectators think that I have the control but as you can see the last movement of the piece is when all the girls slap me to put me on the ground. And it’s how you understand that all the dancers had the control since the beginning and not me.”
It was a no brainer when they were voted into the Semi-Finals. Mistresses danced to “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga. They wore black and gold outfits and highlighted some of their dancers who had their own moments in the spotlight. Again his performance featured a lot of whacking, popping, tutting and of course a tremendous amount of teamwork.
While their performance was incredible, they were eliminated from the competition. They definitely showed France’s Got Talent a whole new caliber of dancing in a group.
Where Are They Now?
After appearing on season 14 of France’s Got Talent, the group is still dancing together. Mistresses performed a burlesque dance routine and cabaret-style show. “After six months without being on stage, here we are. It felt so damn good” Andy wrote on Instagram. The group first began posting practice videos for the show back in April. Now they have finally been able to show off their skills to a socially distanced audience. Before this, Mistresses performed a show in February where they wore matching glittery red outfits and looked like they had a blast.
After overcoming a depressive state in his life, Andy said that France’s Got Talent was a huge milestone for him. “I never did that TV Show to win or to prove something to the audience or even to the jury” he told us exclusively. “It was for myself and just it. And being followed by 10 amazing dancers who believe in you, in your art and gave you their souls to work with was just unbelievable.”
“What a breath of fresh air to find yourself after 6 months without seeing each other. Thank you to my love dancers for sharing this moment with me” he wrote after Mistresses returned to the studio amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“Since France Got Talent, The Mistresses Company have evolved” he added. “I had some new dancers inside who gave us some fresh blood. We’ve been seen in the Clara Morgane Cabaret since December 2019 and we just started the new season of this tour. Next to that we still going on rehearsal to create our own video project to show peoples all the technical scope of the company!” he said excitedly.
