Rihanna Accused Of Stealing Ideas For Her Savage X Fenty Fashion Show

Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty fashion show made headlines for its stunning production and outright sexy models that walked the runway. But now, one young artist is accusing the “Diamonds” singer of stealing her ideas.
Selah Marley Thinks Rihanna Drew Inspiration From Her Original Idea
Selah took her frustrations to Instagram after watching Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty fashion show to debut her new collection. “Quite a few friends brought this up to me & I wasn’t gonna say anything about this, but I’m bothered,” the daughter of Lauryn Hill and Rohan Marley wrote. “For those who remember, I did ‘A Primordial Place’ in May 2019.. I put my heart & soul (& all the money I had) into this project and… I don’t know. Is it just me?”
“As a young, independent, female black artist, I genuinely feel robbed” she continued. “I’m not signed to any label.. I don’t have any investors. I just have myself & the people who support me. It took A LOT to pull this together & to see it replicated almost exactly with no mention of my name or the work I previously put in is just ridiculous.”

Selah then attached photos of her project “A Primordial Place” and photos from Rihanna’s show. “The first photo is the recent Savage x Fenty show. The other photos are A Primordial Place. What do you think?” she asked her 163,000 Instagram followers.
Fans Have Mixed Opinions About Whether Or Not The Ideas Are Similar
The Savage x Fenty show was split into four parts, Dear Diary, The Savage Not Sorry collection, the introduction of menswear to the brand and Garden of Eden. Rihanna herself walked the runway and emerged from the stage covered in flowers. Other stars that walked the runway included Bella Hadid, Normani, Paris Hilton and Lizzo.
After Selah made her point on Instagram, she had several people supporting her in the comments section. “The resemblance is so clear… more independent artists need to be compensated for their creations rather than stolen from!” rapper Leaf wrote.
“I literally can’t tell the difference. That’s crazy! I’m sorry :/ this happens way too often where they use Instagram to steal photos/art and use it for their mood board” singer Maxine Ashley wrote.
“OK I WAS THINKING HOW SIMILAR IT WAS TOO,” a fan wrote in the comments. While another fan was on the fence saying “uhmmm sis? I don’t think Rihanna would do u like that first of all.”
On The Shade Room Instagram, there were also mixed feelings about whether or not Rihanna stole Selah’s idea. “Girl had a few trees and colors and thought she was the new Leonardo Da Vinci,” wrote one person in the comments section. “She reaching, the idea isn’t a fresh concept, next!” wrote another.
