Queen + Adam Lambert Announce “The Rhapsody Tour” in 2019
Queen recently announced the upcoming North American “Rhapsody Tour” with American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert! As he has since 2011, Adam will sing lead vocals for the group. The band is set to tour all across the United States and Canada in July and August of 2019.
If you want a sneak peek at the “Rhapsody Tour” (and see Queen + Adam Lambert in action), here’s a clip of a “Front Man Battle” with The World’s Best host James Corden:
Talk about an epic show! Adam Lambert was known for being a powerhouse singer on American Idol. You would be hard-pressed to find a list of the best Idol performances that doesn’t include Adam’s “Ring of Fire” or “Mad World.” They were honestly iconic in a season that was maybe the peak of the entire series. He even auditioned with “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen, so the fact that he’s now their lead touring vocalist brings his experience full circle!
Since then, Adam has only continued to prove his talent and showmanship. “The Rhapsody Tour” isn’t his first time touring with Queen either! Adam first joined the band when he performed at the MTV Europe Awards in Belfast in 2011. He then came on to perform in concert with the band and they announced a mini-tour in Europe shortly after. Since, they have done two other North American tours, in 2014 and 2017, making “The Rhapsody Tour” their third together. Queen + Adam Lambert also just finished a 10-date residency at Park Theater in Las Vegas.
While no one can live up to Freddie Mercury, Adam is one of very few people who can even come close. He can hit all the notes, has a commanding presence, and confidence to boot. There was just something about Freddie Mercury that can never be replicated. But Adam Lambert is absolutely the closest I have ever heard. How are you supposed to even compete with this though?
