Who Is Behind Insensitive Simon Cowell’s Bicycle Accident Memes?
NBC Simon Cowell is on the mend after falling off his electric bike in the courtyard of his Malibu home on Saturday. He fell flat on his back and had to undergo a six-hour surgery to repair all three breaks he suffered, along with having a metal rod placed into his back. But some people on the internet are not as remorseful and are making memes out of the accident.
Simon Cowell’s Serious Injury Is Causing Him To Miss ‘America’s Got Talent’
Simon is currently in recovery after surgery and posted on social media to tell fans he is on the mend. “Some good advice… If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time. I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages” he tweeted. “And a massive thank you to all the nurses and doctors. Some of the nicest people I have ever met. Stay safe everyone, Simon.” But Simon’s injury does seem very serious, as doctors said that the part of his back that he broke was just one centimeter from hitting his spinal cord. If he had broken his spinal cord he could’ve ended up paralyzed for life, or dead. A spokesperson for Simon told the Mirror that he is “under observation and is doing fine.”

They also believe that Simon will be back on his feet in three weeks though an injury of this caliber usually takes around eight to 10 weeks of recovery time. It was also announced that Kelly Clarkson would be filling in for Simon during the first week of live shows on America’s Got Talent.
Who Is Creating Memes About Simon Falling Off His Bike?
Simon’s injury does seem pretty serious, but that didn’t stop some people from creating memes of him riding his bike. One page with an icon of Louis Tomlinson from One Direction put out a photoshopped video of Simon riding his bike.
Similarly, another One Direction page posted another edited video of Simon getting into the bike accident.

And another person on Twitter shared a meme that implies One Direction fans are laughing at Simon’s injury.
And this one also featured images of One Direction members Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson.
One Direction fans, known as Directioners have a very deep distaste for the entertainment mogul as they feel he was too controlling over the group after they formed on The X Factor in 2010. One Direction fans believe there was a relationship going on between Harry and Louis since The X Factor days. Fans do think that this relationship had to be kept under wraps because Simon thought it would be bad for their public image. He wanted Harry to have the brand or image that he was a flirt to virtually any girl, and for Louis to be the boy next door. This combined with several other grievances has caused some pent up aggression towards Simon whom the boys no longer work with while pursuing their solo music careers.
