For one woman at an Ikea in China, she took it upon herself to have a happy ending. Yes, you read that right, as a video surfaced of her masturbating all over the store.
Viral Video Caused Ikea’s In China To Beef Up Security
This video has continuously been removed from Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website. It genuinely could have been damaging for the Ikea brand. A huge part of their sales come from people browsing their store and testing out furniture. With this woman masturbating on said furniture, it begs the question of just how clean Ikea stores actually are. It caused Ikea to put out a response saying they will have “even more careful security and public cleanliness measures.” Hopefully, that is the case for Ikea locations all over the world. They urge people to shop in an “orderly and civilized way” and provide a “safe, comfortable, and healthy shopping experience and environment.”

In the clip, the woman is only wearing a white button-down shirt as she engages in pleasuring herself throughout the store. She is seen on several couches and chairs with her legs spread wide open. At one point in the video, several costumers walk by and notice what she is doing. This does not seem like typical behavior for people going to Ikea to pick out bookshelves and tables. She definitely went there with a plan in mind and it may have worked for her because she ended up going viral.
People Could Not Stop Making Jokes About This Incident
When news of this viral video caught wind on Twitter, one user joked “This makes me sick to my stomach. Does anyone have the clip, for science?” Another said “No face mask??? What a harlot!!!” The video was presumed to be filmed before the coronavirus outbreak hit China since not many people seen in the background are wearing a face mask. Ikea locations across the globe were closed during the peak of the outbreak, especially in China, the epicenter of the virus.

Another tweet said “A video has gone viral of a woman pleasuring herself with a sex toy at an IKEA in China. And it’s a pretty long video because she had to build the sex toy.” This is a joke directed towards the fact that Ikea sells furniture that you have to build yourself. If you have ever built something from Ikea without having a mental breakdown, major props to you.
Punishment For This Public Display Of Self-Affection Is Pretty Harsh
Yes, the headlines may be funny about this viral video. But, if the woman is identified she could face some serious charges. Deliberate public nudity in China is frowned upon. This woman could be facing up to 10 days’ administrative detention for public nudity. As you can imagine, administrative detention is not a fun place to be. Not to mention that uploading this explicit content on the web can lead to 15 days’ detention. And to top it all off, she can be charged a fine of up to 3,000 yuan with is roughly $423. This isn’t the first time a situation like this has happened in a Chinese retail store. In 2015, a couple was caught having sex in a Uniqlo changing room which was caught on video.
Pornography is illegal in China. Five people involved in the incident were arrested.
Perhaps next time you are in an Ikea store, wipe down the couch before you sit on it and test it out.
