Meet American Idol‘s Newest Winner, Noah Thompson
Even though the competition was close between Noah Thompson and HunterGirl, Noah reigned victorious. The 20 year old country singer was working as a construction worker in Louisa, Kentucky, before auditioning for American Idol. He’s dreamed of making it big as a musician since he was a kid, but his friend was ultimately the person that signed him up to audition. Noah has been open about his lack of confidence when it comes to his musical talent.
Noah is inspired by musicians like Ryan Adams, Neil Young, and Chris Stapleton. He’s also inspired by his father, who was in a band during Noah’s youth. In high school, Noah’s friends pushed him to sing in the choir and in talent shows.
Since winning the series, Noah has taken the time to process what it means to win the competition as a whole. His first notable appearance was alongside other American Idol alum at the 2022 CMA Fest. He shared via Instagram that he was able to perform alongside Jimmie Allen, Chayce Beckham, and more at this event. American Idol season 20 runner up, HunterGirl also performed at this event.
