Nick Cannon Says Leaving ‘America’s Got Talent’ Was The Best Thing He Ever Did

Last season we all enjoyed Tyra Banks as the host of America’s Got Talent…well…not everyone. We had plenty of people write in to tell us how much they missed Nick Cannon and how he was a better host. I’m not getting into that argument as I feel that neither was better or worse, just different. One thing is for sure and that’s the fact that Nick is happy he left.
He believed that the show’s producers were trying to buy him off to control him. He said of his departure,
“It was the best decision I ever made in my life. I was being threatened with extermination by executives. I honestly believe once I started doing ‘America’s Got Talent,’ they took my ‘real n—a’ card.”
I’m not sure what the last part means but I get what he’s saying. AGT offers up a squeaky clean image and if you want to appear to be cool and hard, it is not the right venue. It’s even softened up Simon Cowell and he used to be the biggest gangsta of all. We’re happy Nick found happiness away from the AGT spotlight…because it’s too late now to change his mind.
