The Cough And Dance Trend Is Way Too Relevant Now
The cough and dance trend started over a year ago on TikTok. However, with coronavirus rapidly spreading across the world, it does, in fact, seem to be more prevalent. This video features audio of people coughing and then the coughs are actually turned into a beat. The beat sounds pretty cool, we can’t lie. In these cough and dance videos, people pretend to be coughing in the beginning, and then they start to dance.
This trend was started by a YouTuber named CalebCity who has over 2.8 million subscribers. Here is the original YouTube video that sparked this viral TikTok trend. It now has over 8 million views and introduced the world to making beats out of coughing.

Another dance that has garnered some hype is “Can’t Touch This,” the remix to MC Hammer’s iconic song. This dance is super simple and only requires some minimal hand movements. It’s great for beginners or for people who claim that they can’t dance.
“Savage” is another one that you will literally not be able to get out of your head. Seriously, when you are brushing your teeth in the morning you will probably have this song playing in your head. Sometimes we’re all just feeling a little savage and Megan The Stallion’s song is proof of that.

You are probably asking yourself this question right now. TikTok is a place where everyone can be accepted and people will support you no matter what you are doing. Whether it’s comedy videos, dancing, singing, cooking or anything really, people will take a liking to it. And no, the app isn’t only for teenagers. According to Medium, only “50% of TikTok’s global audience is under the age of 34, with 26% between 18 and 24.”
When you see other people having a blast making these videos, it makes you want to do it too. Perhaps that is why TikTok has over 800 million active users of all ages. Celebrities have even jumped on the bandwagon and make videos on the app including Kylie Jenner and James Charles.
