Mom Of 3 Performs Pole Dancing Act Like Never Seen Before On ‘Australia’s Got Talent’
Kristy Sellars came to Australia’s Got Talent to prove that moms can do it all. She completely blew everyone away with a pole dancing routine that combined animation and precision, unlike anything we have ever seen before. Check out her audition below which took place in 2019, six months after she gave birth to her youngest child.
Kristy Sellars Proved That Moms Can Pole Dance On ‘Australia’s Got Talent’
Kristy’s clockwork inspired routine was a whole different caliber of talent on Australia’s Got Talent. She started off with a clock projection, and the screen began moving to show a bunch of gears. She climbed up the pole to perform an array of difficult moves. Not to mention, one section of her routine was dedicated to popping and locking.
Her ability to tell a story through pole dancing was remarkable and the routine finished with the audience realizing the animations were showing Kristy trapped inside of a clock. At the end of the performance, the clock is fixed. She received a standing ovation from the judges and the audience who all agreed that the performance was “magical.”
She made it to the Semi-Finals where she mesmerized the audience with a rainbow inspired routine. This time she incorporated two poles instead of just one like her audition, showing that she could always step up her game.
She performed a stunning routine in the Grand Finals about a child whose parents are going through a rough patch. In the end, she made her own path and ended the show-stopping routine with an animation and pole dancing combo that lit up the room. Kristy had the judges in tears. It was no surprise when she ended up winning season nine of Australia’s Got Talent.

Where Is She Now?
Kristy’s Australia’s Got Talent win has definitely changed people’s perceptions about pole dancing. “I think it definitely has changed people’s perceptions of it and anyone who already does pole knows how amazing it is but people who haven’t tried it have those reservations of what it’s like,” she said in an interview with Who.
“The biggest thing I loved about ‘AGT’ was being able to show a huge amount of people an entirely new side of pole” she told Talent Recap. “I was expecting a lot of stigmas and push back which I was fine with, but I was very pleasantly surprised when people loved it and changed their perceptions. That is still rewarding to this day!”
She opened up a new dance studio with her partner Sam and continues to post pole dancing videos on her Instagram and Youtube channel. And of course, Kristy still remains very busy and has had to learn to manage her time. “Balancing work and family is a tricky thing for anybody I think,” she told us exclusively. “I try to make sure I make quality time for each (family, work, and myself) every day. Having deliberate time set aside helps to not get swept up in work that needs to be done etc and then lose the time for the others. But sometimes it feels more like an untrained juggle rather than a skilled balance.”
This hard-working mom also posts dance tutorials in case you want to get up and moving in the comfort of your own home. “I did have performances booked all around the world through 2020 but Covid made that impossible so things were canceled,” she told us. “I’ve just started getting contacted about shows for 2021 so I will start on some new pieces for that soon.”
