A 2-time Emmy nominee and regular on the Joe Rogan show, Michael Yo is a comedian/actor/host that is well known in Hollywood’s comedy circuit and is now on America’s Got Talent to make us all have a belly laugh. 1. Michael Yo Was In The ICU For 8 Days Because Of COVID
In a tearful Instagram video on March 30, Michael revealed that he had been diagnosed with the virus and pneumonia. He spent eight days in the intensive care unit before doctors said he was well enough to go home.
“I feel good now,” he said via a video interview on The Wendy Williams Show. “I’m about 85 percent better. But at times, like right now, I still have to think to kind of catch my breath.” Keep in mind, 6 days after his audition, he was in the ICU and his doctor wasn’t sure that he’ll make it.
2. Michael Yo Is A family Man
The self-proclaimed “Half-Black Brother with a Korean Mother” was born and raised in Houston and now lives in Los Angeles with his family. Michael has been blessed with a tight-knit family, that has been his major support system throughout his life. His father, Oliver, is an African American, while his mother, Kum, is a Korean.
Michael jokingly refers to the whole integration as “Blasians.” His parents have been a part of his podcasts quote a few times, along with his two children and wife that are a prominent feature on his Instagram.
Michael dated his wife for a year and married Claire Elise Yo in February 2017.
Claire is Miss Wyoming USA 2010 and has appeared in the reality show, ‘Kicking and Screaming.’ Since the birth of their son Oliver Yo and daughter Elise, Claire spends most of her time at home, looking after them.
