The Masked Singer season 4 has promised, and delivered, bigger and better stars than ever! The Masked Singer Giraffe rose to new heights as the tallest costume yet. Yes, even beating out season 2’s Thingamajig! And his upbeat rapping surprised everyone when he took the stage in colonial attire.
But which celebrity is under the Giraffe mask? Here are all the clues, plus our prediction!
Clues on The Masked Singer Season 4
Before the season premiere, we got a big clue (literally) about the Giraffe’s identity. In the Super Sneak Peek, he said “you should know I share something in common with a powerful giant.” He was also walking down 10th Avenue in New York City when that clue was given.
The Giraffe’s first batch of clues were all carnival-themed. He said he’s had a “roller coaster career, full of ups and downs.” Music is “in his blood,” but when he took a step out, he became the butt of everyone’s jokes. He’s seen getting apples and tomatoes thrown at him. The Giraffe was “in knots and felt so lonely, like the party was over.” But that got him to swing even higher, he says as he uses a hammer to play a carnival game. There’s also a sign with “$3” printed on it. With hard work, he found “towering success” and now he’s “in the driver’s seat.” After his performance, he explained “it’s really been fun, plus it was a big deal to not have to focus on vocals.”
Popular Guesses for The Masked Singer Giraffe
Ken thought it might be Garth Brooks, acting as his rapping alter-ego, but the rest of the panelists quickly shot that idea down. Jenny guessed Travis Barker, then Robin predicted Vanilla Ice. Many fans online seem to agree with Jenny and Robin. Other names thrown out as potential guesses are Lin-Manuel Miranda, Daveed Diggs, or Anthony Ramos from Hamilton, Fred Durst, and Kevin Hart.
Our Prediction for The Giraffe On The Masked Singer?
We have narrowed down the field to two top contenders for the Giraffe. So we’re going to share them both and why we think they might be under the mask! Here’s who we think The Masked Singer Giraffe could be…
Vanilla Ice or Fred Durst!
Now this one could really go either way. They have similar voices and styles, and different clues make sense for each of them for different reasons. Let’s get into why!
Is the Giraffe Vanilla Ice?
For Vanilla Ice, his “roller coaster career” definitely includes a lot of ups and downs. He had some chart-topping hits, but changed his musical style and lifestyle after surviving a suicide attempt. He has since hosted a show on DIY Network, appeared in a poorly-reviewed movie, and re-signed to a new record label. Though, he has never achieved the success he did in the 1990’s.
That being said, the hammer he uses on the carnival game could be a nod to the DIY Network show he hosted. The comment about being the “butt of everyone’s jokes” and seeing tomatoes and apples thrown at the Giraffe could refer to Vanilla Ice’s acting career. His movie, “Cool as Ice,” won him a Golden Raspberry Award and received an 8% on RottenTomatoes. He also references being “in the driver’s seat” and Vanilla Ice has done motocross racing, winning “3” championships, which was a clue as well. Plus, he’s on the Insane Clown Posse’s record label, so the carnival theme in general just makes sense.
Or is the Giraffe Fred Durst?
But just as many clues apply to Fred Durst! His career has also had ups and downs, with the success of Limp Bizkit, followed by many controversies he has been a part of. For him, being the butt of jokes could also be alluding to his films, which have never received over at 46% on Rotten Tomatoes. One clue that has another tie to Fred Durst is about being “in knots.” Fred had a very public feud with Slipknot, after insulting their fans. And the “$3” sign at the carnival could refer to his debut album, Three Dollar Bill, Y’all$.
Based on all this information, if we had to pick one, we’d say The Masked Singer Giraffe is Vanilla Ice. But it really could go either way, so both are worth mentioning!
