The Masked Singer is back to its usual time this week! And with five new performances and one shocking reveal, we couldn’t be more excited. Plus, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog joined the judging panel.

Let’s get into what happened in tonight’s episode, including the reveal that has us bugging out:

The Fox performs “Every Little Step” by Bobby Brown on The Masked Singer

Who is the Fox?

Clues: The Fox says a whole new side of him is shining. We see a sign with the “Foxhole Hotel.” He dreams of entertaining people on tour and mentions a 30 year career. A “set list” is shown, reading “Everybody Say Yeah, Sugar Daddy, Cabaret, and You And Me.” He’s won multiple awards and is a household name, but he’s mostly known for being part of a “pack of talented fellas.” The Fox’s revealing item was a boombox. He says, “as a young pup, this gift from my father helped me find my voice…and a few others.”

Performance: The Fox lit up the stage, singing “Every Little Step” by Bobby Brown. Truly such an epic way to start the show! He’s dancing, singing, and commanding the crowd. Fox showed all he’s got this week and proved he deserves to stay around for a while!

Judges’ Guesses: AJ McLean (from the Backstreet Boys), Lou Dobbs, Sterling K. Brown, Jamie Foxx

The Ladybug performs “Youngblood” by 5 Seconds of Summer on The Masked Singer

Who is the Ladybug?

Clues: The Ladybug says she feels her confidence growing. She talks about celebrating who she is while people are seen dancing with tie-dye ribbons and playing tambourine and guitar. The men are seen playing jacks. She talks about letting her family and insecurities get in the way. A hand of cards is shown, reading “Ace, Nine, Eight, Four.” She is doing makeup in the package too. “Second star to the right, and straight on ’til morning” (a quote from Peter Pan) is her closing remark. The Ladybug’s revealing item was a golf cart that said “all access.” She explained, “in my youth, I wasn’t afraid to get mud in my tires.”

Performance: The Ladybug sang “Youngblood” by 5 Seconds of Summer. It was an interesting song choice and definitely didn’t showcase her vocals the best, but it wasn’t bad either! Ladybug clearly has some talent. But with the competition heating up, her days are numbered.

Judges’ Guesses: Nicki Minaj, Jamie Lynn Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Jackson

The Flower performs “Amazed” by Lonestar on The Masked Singer

Who is the Flower?

Clues: The Flower’s clues start in black and white. She says that being on stage was “always [her] dream, girls.” She was “shy about showing her talent” and a talent show sign is seen on the screen. The Flower says she’s still an introvert and loves when it’s “oh so quiet.” Nothing makes her happier than kicking off her shoes and “lying in rapture in my own secret garden.” She ends the clues proclaiming, “I will survive.” Flower’s physical clue was a deck of cards. She comments, “it’s not about the hand you’re dealt, it’s about the way you play it, honey.”

Performance: Singing the over-covered “Amazed” by Lonestar, the Flower made quite an impression. She has a timeless, soulful voice that can’t be matched. To me, this voice is unmistakable. And those high notes she can hit flawlessly every time are amazing!

Judges’ Guesses: Bjork, Gloria Gaynor, Patti LaBelle, Anita Baker, Jennifer Holliday

The Tree performs “No Excuses” by Meghan Trainor on The Masked Singer

Who is the Tree?

Clues: The Tree says that the hardest part of this show is “learning to stand on [her] own two purple stumps for the first time.” The shot shows a blank Playbill with three pennies on it and a Chicago flag on the ground. She says she works “REALLY well with others.” When she puts on the mask, it’s like she’s been “beamed up into another dimension.” She mentions hanging out with “strangers with candy.” The Tree’s revealing clue was a bowl of soup. She said, “If it wasn’t for soup, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

Performance: The Tree sang “No Excuses” by Meghan Trainor and proved she’s got as much energy and sass as she does vocal talent. This performance was so fun. It allowed the Tree to do what she does best! Though I thought her singing last week was better, this was solid and should keep her around.

Judges’ Guesses: Amy Sedaris, Molly Shannon, Cheri Oteri, Lauren Graham, Rachael Ray

The Rottweiler performs “Castle on the Hill” by Ed Sheeran on The Masked Singer

Who is the Rottweiler?

Clues: The Rottweiler says he didn’t take the “conventional route to stardom” while he is seen selling a vacuum. He then picks up a North Carolina flag. The Rottweiler talks about “on-screen opportunities” while he is seen investigating a crime scene. His clues end with him doing the robot. Rottweiler’s revealing item was a drawn portrait of Triumph. He explained to Triumph, “I love you so much that I drew this for you, hoping you would sign it for a fellow pup.”

Performance: To close the night, Rottweiler sang “Castle on the Hill” by Ed Sheeran. It was his best performance to date and my favorite performance of the whole episode. He showcased some crazy falsetto notes! When you strip away the extra fluff, all that’s left is pure vocals. And Rottweiler proved he’s on par with the top of the pack tonight.

Judges’ Guesses: Gavin DeGraw, Darren Criss, James Franco

Unmasking the Ladybug on The Masked Singer

The Ladybug is Unmasked!

After all the performances and voting from the panelists and studio audience, we finally got to see another celebrity unmasked. This time it was the Ladybug. Not surprised, to be honest. And three panelists guessed it was Lindsay Lohan under the mask. She was revealed to be…Kelly Osbourne! Just as we predicted in our recap show last week.

Tune in to The Masked Singer with us again next Wednesday at 8/7c on FOX!
