At the end of the night, a fan favorite TV legend was revealed, shocking the panelists and audience. But who was it? And who will move on to the Group C Finals? Here’s our recap of The Masked Singer tonight.

First, we had a fun performance from a guest panelist, Mr. TV. And of course, it was season two winner Wayne Brady!

Who is The Mushroom?

The Mushroom performs “If I Could Turn Back Time” by Cher on The Masked Singer Group C Playoffs

Clues: The Mushroom says mushrooms “get a bad rap” but he’s here to win the world over. Even when he was young, he “knew he was offbeat,” he says as he’s at “North Spore High School.” We see a glass of orange juice in the frame as well. Then, Mushroom opens a “Clue Burn Book” similar to the one in Mean Girls, with a picture of a reindeer and a picture of the Kangaroo (Jordyn Woods) from last season. He is seen bringing two black beetles on a tray to a lunch table. After eating in the bathroom, Mushroom appears on a snowy Christmas stage next to a Santa with leopard print on his suit. He says he embraced being a “nerd” and an “outcast” as he breaks a pair of bedazzled glasses and a tiara. A ton of clues pointed to Mean Girls.

Mushroom’s magic clue was a brain made of jell-o, which Nick Cannon takes a bite of. He explains “a mind is a terrible thing to waste, but it makes for a pretty sweet clue.”

Performance: Singing “If I Could Turn Back Time” by Cher, Mushroom really proved he’s got singing chops this week! And anyone wondering if he was a man or woman had that question definitively answered. He is super talented for sure and that note at the end was EPIC!

Judges’ Guesses: Ken predicted Mushroom is Donald Glover. Nicole guessed it could be Adam Lambert. Guest panelist Wayne Brady thought Will Smith before he sang, then thought it might be Jaden Smith.

Who is The Broccoli?

The Broccoli performs “Hello” by Lionel Richie on The Masked Singer Group C Playoffs

Clues: Broccoli’s clues had him speaking in an Italian accent the whole time. His clues have a nod to GoodFellas, with a parody called “FoodFellas.” He pulls up to “COPABANANA” which has a “900” on it. Broccoli tells the story about being out with a friend. He’s sitting in a booth with red wine on the table and a framed photo of an acoustic guitar on the wall. He makes a Hawaiian pizza, which is done at 6:00am. Then, he says he “called the boss” and his number was 3-7-2-6-5. We see an anchor hanging behind him in the phone booth.

After his performance, Broccoli’s magic clue was a roulette wheel landed on Black 26. He says “take this clue for a spin and you may land on my identity, if you’re lucky.”

Performance: In a serenade to Nicole, Broccoli sang “Hello” by Lionel Richie. He plays up his showmanship throughout the performance and has pretty solid vocals. You can tell he’s an older singer. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t still have it!

Judges’ Guesses: Nicole guessed Broccoli was Wayne Newton. Ken thought it might be Martin Short, who he’s hoped to see on the show for years, and Wayne Brady agreed with him. Jenny predicted Jason Alexander, based on the numbers clue, which she interpreted to read “FRANK.”

Who is The Squiggly Monster?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3RCHt71a1o
The Squiggly Monster performs “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” by The Rolling Stones on The Masked Singer Group C Playoffs

Clues: Squiggly Monster starts his clues by saying “America!” and we see him in the Oval Office. He says he has to report an “inconvenient truth,” there’s more than meets the eyes. When he was little, he was bullied for being different. He was struck by a “barrage of tragedies.” We then see popcorn pop all around him. Squiggly Monster found that laughter was his best mecidine. We see him in front of podiums and a penguin walks behind him. A pineapple falls on him, he slips on a banana, and throws a football into one of the men in black. The shot then goes to a diner scene, where we see six crepes on a plate, then one on another plate, and six on a third plate.

His magic clue was a giant teddy bear. He also reveals that he is married!

Performance: Squiggly Monster had a lot of fun dancing and singing around the stage to The Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” It wasn’t the most impressive performance vocally but it was super entertaining to watch!

Judges’ Guesses: The panelists were split on who the Squiggly Monster could be! They guessed Ted Danson, David Hasselhoff, and Al Gore.

Who is The Jellyfish?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zObuObk6WUs
The Jellyfish performs “Crazy” by Patsy Cline on The Masked Singer Group C Playoffs

Clues: Jellyfish’s clues mention being “super competitive.” She’s “one of the best” at what she does. We see her switch on an old film camera. Jellyfish talks about her family, with a picture of four jellyfish and a big jellyfish wearing glasses and a bow tie. Her parents are the “sea’s knees,” she says as they come off the “USS BIG BIRD.” We see her “ride or die, Papa Jelly” guiding her using a candle to light the way. He helped “engineer” her whole world. We see them doing yoga together. She wakes up at 7:20 and mentions “gigs in faraway lands” that he would take her to, showing a band then focusing in on a ray playing the triangle. Next, Jellyfish picks up a lightsaber and knocks over a box and bow of cereal. Tonight, she’s using her “dad’s wisdom” to help fight off her nerves.

Her magic clue was a stuffed tiger. She explains “if you can earn your stripes and pounce on this clue,” then purred.

Performance: Jellyfish closed out the night with her performance of “Crazy” by Patsy Cline. I don’t think she’s a trained singer, but she still has a nice voice. Her tone is great and she hits the right notes! It’s the stage presence that needs a little work for me. But overall, a great performance! She should have an easy path to the Super Six in Group C.

Judges’ Guesses: Robin guessed Jellyfish could be Sofia Richie. Ken thought it could be Lana Condor. Wayne Brady predicted Jamie Lynn Spears or Halle Bailey from Chloe x Halle.
