Canadian magician Darcy Oake auditioned for season eight of Britain’s Got Talent with something that the judges had never seen before. The 26-year-old stud literally pulled live birds out of thin air in a magic trick that everyone’s jaws on the floor. Take a look at this mind-blowing audition below.
‘BGT’ Introduced Magician Darcy Oake To The World
First, after lighting a feather on fire, Darcy miraculously made one white dove appear. He then made four more live birds appear with illusions and had every single person in the audience absolutely shook. Darcy cracked an egg to reveal a smaller white bird along with making a cage appear. After duplicating the bird and the cage, it was time for his final trick. He put all the birds in a cage and covered it with a black cloth. When he pulled the cloth off, the birds were gone and a woman was revealed to be standing on the table. He received a standing ovation from the judges and the crowd after his truly remarkable ‘BGT’ audition. “Darcy I think you’re the best magician we’ve ever seen on the show,” David Williams said.
“That was absolutely fantastic and it helps that you look fantastic as well,” Alesha Dixon said. Amanda Holden said that Darcy made them believe “the impossible is possible.” Simon Cowell said that he was “without question the best magician we’ve had on the show.” It’s no surprise here that Darcy was sent to the live shows. In the semi-finals, he performed an insane disappearing trick.
In the finals, he performed a daring escape act where he was suspended upside down above a bear trap. He ultimately finished the competition in fifth place.
Where Is He Now?
In December 2014 after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent, he hosted his own show, Darcy Oake: Edge of Reality. He basically solidified his title of being the ultimate daredevil doing tons of risky stunts on the show. Darcy also toured alongside “The Illusionists.” In 2019, Darcy went to compete on ‘AGT: Champions.” For this performance, he needed a little help from the judges. He literally made Heidi Klum float on stage in a miraculous trick. He was eliminated in the preliminary round but made a huge impact on the show.
He then went on to compete on ‘BGT: Champions’ in the spring of 2019. Darcy performed a memorable tribute to his late brother Bruce, all with the help of some magic. He made it all the way to the finals but was later eliminated.
He recently just rescheduled tour dates as the coronavirus pandemic has halted some of his touring plans. If you have the opportunity to see Darcy perform in person, definitely make sure you cease it because he truly is one of a kind.
Do you agree with the judges that Darcy is the best magician that Britain’s Got Talent has ever seen?
