Luke Bryan Had Dinner With Blake Shelton And Gwen Stefani — Here’s What They Talked About

Blake Shelton Gwen Stefani Luke Bryan The Voice American Idol

Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton might be on competing talent shows (American Idol and The Voice), but that doesn’t mean the country stars don’t hang out off screen. In fact, Luke recently joined Blake and his girlfriend, former Voice coach Gwen Stefani, for dinner in Hollywood.

According to Us Weekly, the trio went to Craig’s restaurant in West Hollywood together on April 14, with Gwen documenting the night on Instagram Stories. No word on why Luke’s wife Caroline was apparently left out of the festivities. Maybe it was a “judges only” situation.”

So what do they talk about on these dinner dates? “We speak about the shows [Idol and The Voice], but we’re really just catching up, wanting to know how the family and everybody else is doing,” Luke told Us Weekly.

“It was just fun hanging with them, and anytime I’m able to see them having fun and being happy, it’s great to be around them,” Luke added, saying he and Blake have a “fun competition” over their shows.

Blake Shelton Luke Bryan Rivalry

Although they have a friendly rivalry going, Blake has actually been very supportive of Luke since he joined the American Idol judges’ table last year. Sure, he may have called him “dumb” in a statement about the news, but he added that he “loves him like a brother.”

Blake even gave Luke advice about negotiating his deal with the show. “I’ve been doing it long enough I wanted them to treat him right, you know, so hopefully that all worked out for him,” Blake said last year.

Considering American Idol and The Voice are constantly (and understandably) compared, it’s nice to see the stars of the shows getting along. And they’re not the only example of a friendly crossover. Recently, Katy Perry collaborated with Voice stars Adam Levine and John Legend (plus a lot of other artists) on a song for environmental awareness.
