Louis Tomlinson Goes Above and Beyond For Contestant Anthony Russell On ‘The X Factor’

Louis Tomlinson gets in touch with his emotions, and proves to us why he is everything we’ve needed in an X Factor judge, and more.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house on Sunday evening, when Tomlinson, 26, became emotional after reuniting with previous contestant, Anthony Russell, 28.
Russell is no stranger to The X Factor platform, auditioning for the competition show twice before. The talented vocalist made it to last years Judges Houses round but had to withdraw his stay due to personal issues.
Sunday night introduced a brand new Russell, after revealing that Tomlinson arranged for him to go to rehab, after his premature exit of the show in 2017.
Russell spoke of his experience Sunday night expressing, “I thought I had a shot at this, I could be someone — and then I started going down a rocky road, making bad choices, the wrong decisions, started getting weak.” Russell performed Avicii’s popular hit, Wake Me Up, and definitely did the song justice.
Post performance Tomlinson was left speechless…in awe of the number he just witnessed. Literally, fighting back tears Tomlinson said, “I literally can’t even talk here. It was a big moment for both of us and you absolutely delivered.” The entire panel appeared to be moved by Russell’s performance. Simon Cowell even comforted Tomlinson with a pat on the back as he expressed his appreciation for Russell’s rendition of the pop/house mash-up.
Surprisingly, Tomlinson was apprehensive to give Russell his well deserved ‘yes’, but Cowell assured Tomlinson, that the pop power house deserved a yes from one of his greatest supporters. Tomlinson, Cowell, Williams, and his wife Ayda Field, all agreed to send Russell forward to bootcamp.
Tomlinson rushed to the stage, ending in a congratulatory embrace with his dear friend Russell. Judge, Robbie Williams congratulated Russell, stating, “It takes courage and ferocity. Your voice is sensational!”
Although Tomlinson has been an X Factor judge for just a short time, he is already delivered in more ways than we could’ve ever even imagined! #LouisFactor anyone?!
