Little Mix Fans SLAM Columbia Records For Not Promoting Their Latest Album In The US

Little Mix supporters are out in full force as they demand respect for the chart-topping girl group. The hashtag #RESPECTLITTLEMIX has been trending on Twitter because fans feel like the group is being mistreated by their label Columbia Records.
Little Mix Has Dealt With A History Of Mistreatment And Sexism In The Industry
Little Mix consists of Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson who have all been very open with their struggles to be respected in the music industry. During a 2018 interview with ASOS magazine, they spoke about facing sexism. “We went to a radio event in America, full of VIPs. Someone from the label said, ‘Go and flirt with all those important men,'” Jade recalled.
Previously, the group spoke out about the mistreatment they have faced in the music industry just after their split from Syco Music. “We still face sexism in the industry” Leigh-Anne Pinnock told the Daily Star. “We’ve been told what we should and shouldn’t do.”

“We learned to put our foot down and make sure we are taken seriously as four strong women who have opinions” she continued. “It’s been a struggle. There are still not enough powerful women in the industry compared to men and that needs to change.” In 2014, the groups US tour was cancelled at the last second, and they have yet to headline a US tour. Fans thought things would change when the group released their latest album Confetti Columbia Records.
Fans Are Furious About The Mistreatment Of The Group
One look at Twitter and it is clear that fans feel Columbia should have done more promotion of this new album in America. The physical album is also not available for purchase in the US. “As a us mixer I never once heard the radio playing little mix since they released their new album. This sucks they’ve been working so hard for this album they deserve more than that and better than that RESPECT LITTLE MIX #RESPECTLITTLEMIX” one fan wrote.
“These girls have accomplished so much with literally no promo and just their own talent, they deserve so much more!!! TREAT THEM RIGHT!!! #RESPECTLITTLEMIX” another tweet said.
“Finally people r speaking out about the obvious sabotage the girls r getting from promo in the #US! I’m in #California & have NEVER seen the girls live except for online! The US label SUCKS! They need a new US label even Leigh-Anne’s mom spoke out about this! #RespectLittleMix” another Twitter user wrote.
Group member Leigh-Anne’s mom even tweeted #RESPECTLITTLEMIX.
