‘American Idol’ Winner Laine Hardy is Working on His First Album

Fans of Laine Hardy, last season’s American Idol winner, have reason to celebrate! The singer is working on his first album. Almost a month after winning the show, he “can’t wait” to go to Nashville and start the process.
In an interview with Louisiana publication The Advocate, Laine Hardy expressed his excitement and what’s ahead for the 18-year-old Livingston native. Let’s see what he had to say!
Laine’s First Album Progress
On his next move, Laine said:
“I can’t wait to go to Nashville. I mean I’ve been out here in LA way too long. I’m going to be in Nashville most of the time working on music, so I’ll be closer to home.”
As is the case for all Idol winners, Laine did quite the media tour after his big win. He appeared on Good Morning America the next day and has since sung his original song “Flame” on The View and Jimmy Kimmel Live. For a country boy like him, this was a big adjustment! He seems excited to go back to a slower pace of life in a less hectic city. There, he’ll be able to get to put pen to paper.
But the next step for Laine Hardy is starting to work on his first album with Hollywood Records. He repeatedly said he hopes to get to Nashville this month to start the project.
“I’m going to be writing songs for my album. I’m trying to get any kind of music out as soon as possible.”
As for what we can expect on the album? It will definitely be more country than his winning single! Laine said, “That’s me, but it’s also not me” when talking about “Flame.” He says he’s “more of a country artist” and will be working with a team of songwriters in Nashville on his album. I’m sure we can expect the rest of his originals to be more pure country music.

In the meantime, Laine still has to wrap up some other Idol obligations. He recently sang at the Embassy of Italy in Washington D.C. for a charity event and attended iHeartRadio’s WangoTango. There he met fellow former American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, among other celebrities!
There is plenty more to come from Laine Hardy! While no time frame has been set on his album release, it seems like the work has already begun. And Maddie Poppe set quite a precedent, releasing hers within a year of her win on American Idol!
