Kim Kardashian Offers To Help Teen Girl Shot With Rubber Bullet In The Face During Protests

At a protest for George Floyd in Louisville, Kentucky Shannyn Sharyse was shot in the face with a rubber bullet by police. The scary moment was caught on video and you can hear the pure terror that people at this protest were experiencing after Shannyn sustained this graphic injury.
She was reportedly standing and recording the protests on her phone when she was struck. This caused people to scream for a medic and an ambulance when they realized the severity of the blow she took to the face.
Shannyn’s Injury Drew Attention From Kim Kardashian
Shannyn took to social media to display the injuries she sustained at the protest. They are extremely graphic and the bullet actually took off a piece of the skin on her head. Not only that, but her eyes were nearly swelled shut as her face was covered in tears of blood.
When Kim Kardashian got wind of what happened to Shannyn, she asked her followers to help her get in contact with her. She posted the following tweet saying “This is heartbreaking and so disturbing. Does anyone know how I can get in contact with her? I would love to help her with medical care if she needs it.” Celebrities have been stepping up to help out protesters as many of them have fallen victim to police brutality at these protests that are supposed to be peaceful. Getting shot in the face with a rubber bullet as a bystander is definitely not peaceful on part of the police.
Several people began to tag Kim on Shannyn’s social media posts to make sure the beauty mogul could properly get in touch with her.

Kim Has Been Outraged By Violence Against The Black Community
Kim has long been an advocate for social justice issues and is even pursuing a law degree to further help those that have been wrongfully incarcerated. More recently, she expressed her outrage after the death of Ahmaud Arbery, the black jogger that was shot by two white men in Georgia. She shared the petition to have both men arrested on social media when the murder took place.
Now she is posting petitions just weeks later to get justice for Floyd and hold all four officers involved in his death accountable.
She also tweeted “I am exhausted by the heartbreak I feel seeing mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and children suffering because their loved one was murdered or locked away unjustly for being black.”

There is a huge issue that needs to be addressed about the damage that rubber bullets can do. The fact that cops at protests around the nation have rubber bullets that can potentially be fatal is an act of violence in itself. Shannyn clearly sustained serious injuries and is only one of the people who has reported their run-ins with the police at these protests. Not to mention that others have also been seriously injured by these rubber bullets when all they are trying to do is fight for justice. People on social media wonder when the police will finally realize that ensuing violence amongst the protesters is part of the problem.
